Wells Fargo employee found dead in her office cubicle 4 days after clocking in

(NEXSTAR) – A 60-year-old Wells Fargo employee was found dead in an office cubicle four days after scanning into the corporate building in Tempe, Arizona, authorities said.

Denise Prudhomme had last scanned into the office around 7 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 16, the Tempe Police Department said in a statement to Nexstar.

The following Tuesday, a security guard called 911 after discovering an unresponsive employee at her desk on the third floor. Wells Fargo confirmed that her cubicle is located in an underpopulated area of the building.

She was pronounced dead at 4:55 p.m., according to police.

Local NBC affiliate KPNX reported that a colleague, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said several people had noticed a foul odor but attributed it to plumbing issues.

While police are still investigating, no foul play is suspected at this time. The Maricopa County Medical Examiner will determine her cause of death.

A Wells Fargo spokesperson offered condolences in the following statement to Nexstar: “We are deeply saddened by the loss of our colleague, Denise Prudhomme. Our thoughts are with her family and loved ones, and we are in contact to ensure they are well supported during this difficult time. We are committed to the safety and wellness of our workforce. Counselors are available to support any employees impacted by this event.”
