Sandra Bullock is ‘Frustrated’ With How Hollywood Paints George Clooney When She Knows His Real Face: ‘How he’s a practical joker’

Sandra Bullock knows a thing or two about George Clooney that Hollywood refuses to acknowledge. Sure, they paint him as the suave, charming silver fox with that permanent air of sophistication. But Bullock? She’s seen the real deal—the man behind the million-dollar smile who’s actually a master of pranks.

And it’s starting to frustrate her. Clooney, the legendary practical joker, is not just the dashing A-lister everyone thinks. Nope, he’s the guy who’ll go to absurd lengths just for a laugh.

While Hollywood keeps polishing his ‘perfect’ image, Bullock’s sitting back, rolling her eyes, because she knows his real face—the one that’s always plotting his next joke. Turns out, Mr. Perfect’s got a mischievous streak no one talks about.

Sandra Bullock’s done with how Hollywood paints George Clooney. Sure, he’s a practical joker, but she’s got the inside scoop on who he really is when the cameras roll. During a chat at the Gravity screening in New York, Bullock shared:

It frustrates me when everyone always talks about how charming he is, how he’s a practical joker. When he gets on a set, he’s all work.

Bullock didn’t hold back as she and Clooney laughed their way through the discussion, moderated by Entertainment Weekly‘s Jess Cagle. But behind the jokes about the government shutdown and imitations of Gravity director Alfonso Cuarón’s accent, Bullock was clear: space was serious business. Pretending to be floating in space, while strapped into a 9×9 box? She called that experience “something that should be in Fifty Shades of Grey.”

Even Clooney couldn’t resist his classic humor, and threw in a quip about his infamous Batman & Robin role. “Batman & Robin in some ways was 3-D — I had nipples on that thing!” he teased. Despite the jokes, both actors were in awe of Cuarón’s vision. Clooney reminded everyone why Gravity was an event to be seen on the big screen. He emphasized that Gravity served as a perfect reason to experience movies in a theater.

Looks like Clooney’s always going to be a bit of a jokester, no matter how “serious” he is on set.

Sandra Bullock’s been slowing down, and not by choice — the actress was spotted hobbling on crutches after an injury. She was seen leaving a physical therapy session in Santa Monica, leaning on crutches as she made her way to her car. Keeping things low-key, Bullock rocked a Yankees cap and gray sweats.

August was rough for the star. Not only was she dealing with her health, but it also marked the one-year anniversary of her partner Bryan Randall’s passing. Randall, the “love of [her] life,” died after battling ALS last year. But she’s holding up good.

For Sandra Bullock, the show must go on — injury or not.
