Reveren Nicholas Osei, founder and leader of Heaven’s Gate Ministries well known as Prophet Kumchacha, the leader of the Kum People’s Party (KPP) has revealed why he chickened out of the 2024 Presidential race.
In a discussion on Kingdom FM monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Prophet Kumchacha disclosed that he dropped from this year’s Presidential race because he does not trust the Electoral Commission(EC).
He mentioned that he conducted a research and a source told him that the Electoral Commission planned to disqualify him even if he applied hence his decision not to file for this year’s polls.
In his words; “I don’t trust the Electoral Commission. The information I gathered from my source said that if I had applied, I would be disqualified by the EC because they claim I am too loud in this country. So I decided not to waste my GHc100,000 to file for presidential candidacy.”
In April this year, Prophet Kumchacha, has hinted he would choose the leader of the Ghana Union Movement (GUM), Rev. Christian Kwabena Andrews, popularly called Osofo Kyiri Abosom, over the leader of Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Akua Donkor, as a Presidential running mate.
His comments were in response to the question of who between the two leaders he would prefer as his running mate for the upcoming 2024 general election because they have similar trades in terms of language.
“Akua Donkor has no vision, and I can’t work with her. If I were to choose to align with someone, it would be Osofo Kyiri Abosom. He’s my friend and brother.” he revealed.
