ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – One person was killed early Sunday morning in a shooting in Honea Path.
According to the Honea Path Police Department, at around 1:30 a.m., officers with the police department and deputies with Anderson County Sheriff’s Department were called to reports of a domestic shooting on Black Street in Honea Path.
The victim was identified as 31-year-old Shaveze Kirshun Hampton Finley, from Easley.
At the scene, officers found Finley, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of death is a gunshot wound to the chest, and has been ruled a homicide, according to the Anderson County Coroner’s Office.
The shooting remains under investigation by the police department, sheriff’s office and Anderson County Coroner’s Office.
“I ask the members of the public to know that this is an ongoing investigation, and HPPD urges the public to refrain from speculating about the incident until more information is available. Any updates will be provided through official channels as the investigation progresses,” said Police Chief Chris Miller in a statement.
Investigators ask anyone who may have heard anything prior to or has additional video of the shooting to please notify HPPD at 864-369-0532.
