Elaine took to Instagram today to celebrate Emma’s birthday with a heartfelt post.

The 47-year-old shared a picture of a gorgeous shrine she had made to Emma in her home after she passed away.

One picture frame had a photo of the Irish host and her friend all dolled up and grinning from ear-to-ear.

The Cork native wrapped her arms around Emma and snuggled into her shoulder.

A message on the frame wrote: “Leave a little sparkle wherever you go.”

A beautiful Christmas bauble hung beside the picture also said: “Robins appear when lost loved ones are near.”

The TV presenter sweetly wrote in her caption: “Happy birthday Emma. Miss you always.”

Friends and family all flocked to the comment section to share their love for Elaine as she remembered Emma on her birthday.

Claire wrote: “Happy Birthday Emma, what a special lady she was.”

Melanie said: “She really was amazing.”

Maeve added: “What a beautiful lady.”

And Caroline remarked: “She is so missed.”

The mother-of-two fought her cancer diagnosis for over 11 years.

However, in February 2018 all Emma’s cancer treatment options had been exhausted and her journey sadly came to an end.

REMEMBERING EMMA

Speaking to VIP Magazine, Elaine spoke about Emma admitting that she “wouldn’t be here today, if it wasn’t for her”.

Elaine added: “I just still can’t believe she’s gone. She’s the best person I ever knew. Genuinely, I mean that.

“Not only was she a good person, and a fighter, but she had a wicked sense of humour.

“I remember when she was on chemo and I was in bed with depression and she’d be like, ‘It’s not a competition to see who has the worst illness’.”

A tearful Elaine continued: “laine, 40, continued: ‘She got me through a lot of tough times. She’d kill me if she saw me crying!”
