“IT’S like 50 Shades of Grey” joked Daithi O Se on RTE’s Today show after his co-host Maura Derrane made an appearance with grey hair.
The Galway beauty returned to RTE screens this afternoon for a new episode of the hit chat show, alongside Today star Daithi.

The show returned from summer break earlier this week, with Daithi hosting Monday and Tuesday alongside Sinead Kennedy, who returned to the show after maternity leave.
On the show this afternoon, Daithi and Maura were discussing the prominence of grey hair in men and women and asking “Do people embrace their grey hair”.
They were joined by a panel that included former Eurovision winner Niamh Kavanagh who admitted she wasn’t a natural red head.
During the segment the hosts presented a slide show of different celebrity women who embrace their grey hair.
The first pictures were of Jane Fonda and Andy McDowell, but the third photo took the hosts and panel by surprise.
It was a picture of Maura that had been digitally altered to show her with grey hair.
Commenting on the picture of herself, Maura said: “Isn’t she amazing with the grey hair, lets put it this way, I would never.”
She then compared herself to the old women from the Irish song Cailleach An Airgead, which translates to The Old Women, or, The Hag with Money.
Daithi then interjected and said: “I think you look very sexy Maura.”
Maura said: “Oh my God Daithi, you are only saying that because you are live on TV. Daithi come on, obviously that is not my real grey hair.”
Daithi added: “50 Shades of Grey written all over it.”
Ahead of her return to the show this morning the 54-year-old took to Instagram last night to post a video of her new hair do.
Maura was all smiles after getting her brunette locks cut and coloured at Sobe Brown in Cork.
The mum-of-one told her fans: “I’m very excited because I’m back on air tomorrow. So I’ll see you all then.
“I really like this. I’ve gone a good bit darker this time. My hair was completely wrecked after summer.
“Thanks to Pamela and everyone here at Sobe Bown.”
