EPSO reveals weekend enforcement surge results

(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO) posted the results of a weekend enforcement surge in Northern El Paso County.

According to EPSO, during the enforcement surge 47 speeding tickets were issued along with 16 other violations, including six expired registrations. EPSO shared a story of one driver who was cited for failing to move over for two patrol vehicles conducting stops on Woodmen Road.

EPSO said the driver told deputies they didn’t know what the flashing blue and red lights meant. Another driver was cited for driving more than 100 mph and after an investigation found the driver had been cited for careless driving less than a week earlier in the same area.

“We might sound like a broken record, but folks aren’t hearing us… If you choose to drive recklessly in El Paso County, we will pull you over, cite you, and hold you accountable,” wrote EPSO. “Slow down, pay attention, wear your seat belts, and drive safely.”
