The sleek top, available in mink or white, has a similar buttery feel to the Skims favourite.

Dunnes Stores designers said the tee is an “everyday essential”.

They said: “Cut from slinky polyamide fabric, this top is super soft and form-fitting.

“An everyday essential, it has a crew neck and short sleeves.”

The stretch t-shirt comes in sizes XS to XXL.

But sizes M to XXL have been snapped up online.

The high street dupe version is a bargain €8, while the luxury brand will set you back €58.

The Skims description reads: “We perfected the t-shirt.

“Made with our signature buttery-soft fabric with incredible stretch and a second-skin feel, this versatile tee molds to your body for the most flattering fit whether you’re dressing it up or down.

“Features a classic crew neck and short sleeves. Fits true to size.”

With a similar neckline and stretchy material, the dupe t-shirt is a staple you keep reaching for again and again.

Separately, a fashion fan tried a viral new cardigan from Penneys and claimed it’s “worth the hype”.

Deborah Stack, who posts under @deborah_stackx on TikTok, alerted her followers to the look in a recent post.

Taking to social media platform, the fashion lover shared a clip of the Penneys soft blend cardigan.

Deborah said: “THAT viral knitted bomber from Penneys/ Primark.”

She continued: “I ran to Penneys, I’ve seen this all over TikTok.

“So it’s the little new bomber, €21, and this is actually the size small.

“And there’s loads of room in it, they come in three colours.”

“I got the viral Penneys cardigan, and it’s worth the hype.

“This is a size small and it’s a generous fit.

“It’s €21, which can be steep for Penneys, but the material is gorgeous and I feel it’s worth it.”

Fans of the look took to the comments to admire the cosy autumn look.

One person said: “Stunning on you.”

While another said: “I need.”

THE HISTORY OF DUNNES STORES

DUNNES Stores opened its first store on Patrick Street in Cork in 1944 – and it was an instant hit.

Shoppers from all over the city rushed to the store to snap up quality clothing at pre-war prices in Ireland’s first ‘shopping frenzy’.

During the excitement, a window was forced in and the police had to be called to help control the crowds hoping to bag founder Ben Dunne’s ‘Better Value’ bargains.

Dunnes later opened more stores in the 1950s and began to sell groceries in 1960 – starting with apples and oranges.

The retailer said: “Fruit was expensive at the time and Ben Dunne yet again offered Better Value than anyone else in town.

“Over time, our food selection has grown and that spirit of good value has remained strong.

“Now we offer a wide range of carefully-sourced foods from both local Irish suppliers and overseas.”

The retailer’s first Dublin store opened its doors in 1957 on Henry Street and a super store on South Great Georges Street was unveiled in 1960.

They added: “In 1971, our first Northern Irish store opened, and many others soon followed.

“Expansion continued in the 1980s in Spain, and later into Scotland and England.”

Dunnes now has 142 stores and employs 15,000 people.
