Berlinky’s will open at 396 Sauchiehall Street later this year, taking over from Life Glasgow.

According to the Glasgow Times, Berlinky’s teased the opening on their social media pages.

They posted a photo on their instagram account of the bar’s logo with a closed curtain, with the caption: “A taster…”

The walls of the plot have been painted a bright turquoise colour, and neighbours late night bar Kilts and Cocktails, and the popular Bistro takeaway.

According to their social media pages, Berlinky’s appears to be a cocktail bar, which will also serve food.

It also looks like they have the space, and facilities to put on live entertaiment, such as comedy shows, live music and acrobatics.

Berlinky’s are already advertising for staff to join their food and drinks teams.

They are actively looking for a sous chef, chef de parties, commis chef, bar manager, bar supervisors, bar staff, bar backs, a floor manager, waiting staff, security, and runners.

Interested parties should contact jobs@berlinkys.com to arrange an interview.

It comes just weeks after another popular Glasgow bar suddenly closed it’s doors, leaving 40 staff without jobs.

Metropolitan Cocktail Bar and Restaurant in the city’s Merchant Square closed its doors suddenly, after 22 years.

Heartbroken Iain Reid and Kevin McGuire said they “feel personally responsible” to their loyal team after being forced to close down the struggling venue.

Iain added: “Our loss in revenue against rising costs is unsustainable. As an independent business, we physically cannot keep up.

“The footfall just doesn’t match the costs. On top of all of the bills, we have to pay 75 grand in rates. England have had 75% rates relief for four years, and Scotland have had none. It’s shocking.”

Metropolitan has become a Glasgow institution in the Merchant City area since it opened in 2002 and is known as a hugely-popular nightlife spot.

Co-Owner Kevin McGuire said: “”We’ve been between four or five shut units for two years. And our revenue from pre-COVID is way down.

“It’s just not sustainable. We’ve tried our best. We take, as directors, very little out of the business, but this has hit us like a tonne of bricks.”
