‘I don’t know how to act’ says Molly-Mae as she opens up about co-parenting with Tommy Fury after split

MOLLY-MAE Hague has revealed she doesn’t know how to act on days when ex-fiancé Tommy Fury has their daughter Bambi.

The Love Island couple split earlier this month amid claims Tommy cheated on a lads’ holiday.

He has since moved out of their £3.5m Cheshire home, where Molly-Mae remains with Bambi, one.

Last night Molly-Mae returned to her YouTube vlogging channel and opened up about the separation for the first time.

Filmed on bank holiday Monday, Molly-Mae admitted she felt lost being home alone.

She said: “I have a child-free day today and I don’t really know how to act because me and that baby have literally been joined at the hip.

“We actually had a nice couple of weeks together. I feel so incredibly lose to her at the minute and she’s quite frankly obsessed with me. it’s scary.

“I can’t go to the toilet or leave the room or do anything without her crying her eyes out which is not really ideal.

“I think she’s having attachment issues at the minute. I think she can obviously sense there’s changes and things, which is very interesting considering she’s just a baby. They’re not stupid, they can pick up ion things.”

Molly-Mae refused to badmouth her ex in the 36 minute vlog, nor did she reveal any details of the reasons behind the separation.

She said: “It’s not something I want to go into.

“He is Bambi’s dad and I will always value him, and respect him and always have a lot of love for him.”

She hit back at claims the split was choreographed for publicity and said the situation had been blown out of proportion.

“This is real life. It is not drama, it is not tea, it is not a publicity stunt – as much as I wish it was,” she said.

“This is real life and it’s very sad and it’s very deep and it just doesn’t feel right for me to come on here and talk about it.

“I think it’s important to deal with it privately, also out of respect to Tommy as well because it’s just not nice.

“I feel like everything over the last couple of weeks has really been a lot.

“It’s been blown way out of proportion. It’s all got a bit carried away with itself.

“The last thing I want to do is fuel that fire. The best way to deal with this is to move forward, look to the future.”

The influencer revealed her friends and family have helped her come to terms with the situation, and insisted she’ll never discuss the specifics of the split and its aftermath.

She shared: “I haven’t really been been able to get away from it the last couple of weeks, the last thing I want to do is to come on here and fuel that more.

“My coping mechanism for the past two weeks is talking to people that I love and are so close to me and have been so incredible through this time.

“I don’t really ever plan on talking about the last couple of weeks.

Timeline of Molly-Mae and Tommy Fury's split

After five years together, Molly-Mae and Tommy Fury split up in August 2024.

At around 4pm on Wednesday, August 14, Molly-Mae and Tommy suffer an explosive showdown and Molly-Mae announces her split from fiancé Tommy Fury, saying ‘ I never imagined our story would end, especially not this way’.

An hour later Tommy shares a separate and brief statement confirming they have parted ways, and thanks Molly-Mae for making him ‘a dad’.

The real reason they split emerges and on Thursday, August 15 The Sun reveals how Molly-Mae learned Tommy had cheated on her – leading to an explosive showdown.

On Saturday, August 17, The Sun reveals how Molly-Mae had been sent an upsetting video showing Tommy kissing a girl in a nightclub in North Macedonia on a lads holiday.

Exactly one week after the split a Danish woman accused of getting close to Tommy speaks to The Sun. On Wednesday, August 21, she denies she is the girl who kissed Tommy.

“It’s not something that I feel comfortable with and I know you will be like, ‘we want to know what’s gone on.”

Molly-Mae and Tommy originally met as contestants on popular ITV2 dating show Love Island back in 2019.

Having coupled up early on in the series, they went on to finish as runners-up behind Amber Gill and Greg O’Shea.

In January 2023, Molly-Mae gave birth to her and Tommy’s daughter, Bambi.

They were due to tie the knot next year in a big money TV deal but those plans have now been ripped up.

Benjamin Mendy set to be forced out of French second tier club after being told he is ‘not a player I particularly want’

BENJAMIN MENDY is on the brink of an exit from French side Lorient, reports suggest.

It comes after the former Manchester City defender was told he is not in the plans of manager Olivier Pantaloni.

Benjamin Mendy has been frozen out at Lorient[/caption]

Mendy, 30, joined the club on a two-year deal following the expiry of his City contract in 2023, with his arrival crashing the club’s website.

He played just 15 times for Les Merlus last season as he was plagued by persistent injuries.

However, this year he has effectively been frozen out of the squad after failing to even make the bench in the club’s opening pair of Ligue 2 fixtures.

Mendy has been joined by £40million Chelsea flop Tiemoue Bakayoko, Isaak Touré and Jean-Victor Makengo on the unwanted list, according to Ouest France.

Boss Pantaloni told reporters at a press conference on Thursday: “Sportingly, they know that these are not players that I particularly want to have in the group.

“I don’t want the balance of the group to be disturbed or even hampered by the arrival in the team of players who do not want to experience a journey with FC Lorient.”

Mendy joined City from Monaco in 2017.

At the club he played 75 games, scoring two goals and adding 12 assists.

He left City by mutual consent having not played for the Premier League champions since August 2021 after he was suspended by the club when he was arrested following an accusation of rape.

Mendy was cleared of rape and attempted rape at Chester Crown Court last year.

He smiled for the camera just hours after a jury cleared him of attempting to rape a woman aged 29 as she showered at his home in October 2018.

The footballer was also found not guilty of raping a 24-year-old woman in his bedroom at his £4.8m mansion in Prestbury, Cheshire, two years later.

Full list of mortgage lenders that offer loans to buy home even if you have a poor credit score

MANY people may not realise that it’s still possible to get on the housing ladder even with a less-than-perfect credit score.

Whether you have missed just one repayment on your credit card, or you’ve been issued with a county court judgement (CCJ), there are numerous reasons why you may have a bad credit rating.

Millions of Brits are picking up tools this Summer - but when should you call in the experts?
You can still get on the housing ladder even if your credit score isn’t perfect
Getty

It could also be as simple as that you haven’t borrowed money before, so your limited credit history is putting off mortgage lenders.

However, it’s still possible to get a mortgage in these situations.

“There’s a host of specialist lenders that can consider borrowers that have had credit issues,” David Hollingworth, associate director at mortgage broker London & Country Mortgages, explained.

The first two steps to take to secure a mortgage are to get hold of your credit report and speak to a mortgage broker.

“One of the key things for borrowers is to understand how ‘bad’ their credit file may look to a lender,” Mr Hollingworth said.

“It’s easy to get hold of your file from a credit reference agency and will help your adviser understand how significant an issue it may be.

“An adviser will have access to a wide range of solutions, and if your credit score is strong enough, you may be surprised at the rates you can access.

“Some of the big mainstream lenders could be more forgiving than you may initially think, but there will still be alternatives where borrowers are knocked back.”

Specialist lenders

In fact, there are a long list of mortgage lenders ready to lend to people with a less than perfect credit rating.

You may not have heard of them – many are specialist lenders, but they exist to help people who would struggle to get a mortgage with a mainstream lender. They differ from other lenders in that they use human underwriters rather than computer programmes.

This means they can weigh up the risks of lending to you on a personal basis and assess each application on a case-by-case basis, rather than simply “computer says no”.

While these lenders may approve your application for a mortgage the fact that you have a bad credit history could still cost you.

mortgage lenders who offer loans to buy home even with bad credit
A number of specialist lenders will offer loans to those with below average credit scores

You may have to accept a higher interest rate than would be offered to someone else and you also may find you need to put down a larger deposit.

The best possible rate currently available on a two-year fixed rate mortgage where you have at least a 15% deposit is 4.84%. You would need a squeaky-clean credit report to get that.

As you can see from the example rates above having a poor credit history means you may well have to accept a much higher interest rate of over 6%.

But it may only be temporary. Get a mortgage, make your repayments on time and you will improve your credit score.

Then in a few years you may be able to remortgage to a lower rate. The most important thing is to get accepted for a mortgage, then you can start rebuilding your credit rating.

The best way to improve your chances of getting a mortgage is to speak to a broker. They know the market, know the lenders and know the tricks of the trade.

“If you’ve had adverse credit, it’s important that you speak with a bad credit mortgage expert before applying directly to a mortgage lender,” Paul Cross, co-founder of mortgage broker Haysto, said.

“Having someone who lives and breathes these types of applications every day and already has a strong relationship with these lenders will make all the difference between you getting the mortgage you need or not.”

A broker can go through your credit report with you and look for areas that will cause problems with lenders and give advice on how to improve your credit score.

How to improve your credit rating

There are lots of little things you can do to improve your credit rating. You can get hold of your credit report for free from Experian, Equifax or TransUnion.

Check your report for any mistakes. If you spot any contact the credit reference agency and the lender in question to get the mistake corrected.

Also check that all your personal information is correct. A mis-spelled surname or typo in your address can have a big impact.

Another way to increase the chance that a lender will approve your mortgage application is to save a bigger deposit.

“Generally, the more money you put down up front, the less of a risk you pose,” said Dan Braithwaite, mortgage manager at Haysto.

“This is especially the case if you have a history of bad credit. If you have more serious credit issues such as CCJs or IVAs, lenders may only agree to grant you a mortgage if you put down a larger deposit.

“To put it another way, if you’ve been bankrupt, a lender sees you as more risky than someone who’s missed a few mobile phone payments.”

In some cases, you may need to consider a guarantor mortgage to get a home loan. This is where a family member – usually a parent – agrees to cover the mortgage repayments if you can’t pay.

Whether you need to use a specialist mortgage product, like a guarantor mortgage, or put down a larger deposit, or accept a higher interest rate you can get a mortgage.

Once you have a mortgage, if you make all your repayments on time, it will help you improve your credit score.

By repaying it on time you will show other lenders that you are a reliable borrower. This means in a couple of years you could remortgage and, potentially, get a cheaper deal.

Different types of mortgages

We break down all you need to know about mortgages and what categories they fall into.

A fixed rate mortgage provides an interest rate that remains the same for an agreed period such as two, five or even 10 years.

Your monthly repayments would remain the same for the whole deal period.

There are a few different types of variable mortgages and, as the name suggests, the rates can change.

A tracker mortgage sets your rate a certain percentage above or below an external benchmark.

This is usually the Bank of England base rate or a bank may have its figure.

If the base rate rises, so will your mortgage but if it drops then your monthly repayments will be reduced.

A standard variable rate (SVR) is a default rate offered by banks. You usually revert to this at the end of a fixed deal term, unless you get a new one.

SVRs are generally higher than other types of mortgage, so if you’re on one then you’re likely to be paying more than you need to.

Variable rate mortgages often don’t have exit fees while a fixed rate could do.

PIP mistake that could see you miss out on share of £870million in benefits – how to avoid it

PERSONAL Independence Payment claimants are missing out on £870million worth of benefits, according to new data from the government.

The benefit is for people who have extra care or mobility needs as a result of a disability

a computer screen displays the gov.uk website
You need to provide all the information to get the correct award

There are two rates of payment – either the standard £72.65 per week or an enhanced payment of £108.55 a year.

When you’re being assessed for a PIP payment, you are given a score.

Those who get between eight and 11 points get the standard rate, while those with more than 12 points qualify for the enhanced rate.

Each year, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) releases “unfulfilled eligibility” figures, which shows the amount of benefit that is going unclaimed.

Unfulfilled eligibility refers to cases where someone could be eligible for a higher amount but have not provided the correct information needed to calculate that award.

For instance, someone might have provided the wrong information or failed to inform DWP about changes to their circumstances.

This year, the rate of unfulfilled eligibility in PIP was 4.0%, which the DWP says adds up to a financial value of £870 million.

The report adds that all unfulfilled eligibility in PIP was due to claimants not informing the Department that they needed more help or that their conditions have deteriorated.

PIP assessments are based on your ability to complete everyday tasks like preparing food, washing and reading. The more help you need with these tasks, the more money you’re entitled to.

You can use the Benefits and Work PIP self-test, to see what you might qualify for if your conditions have changed and whether you need to update your claim.

Tom Farquhar, benefits information specialist at disability equality charity Scope, said: “Many disabled people miss out on PIP when their health deteriorates. If your condition worsens, it’s important to let the DWP know as you may be eligible for a reassessment and a higher rate of PIP.

“However, we know there is a lot of fear and distrust among disabled people when it comes to engaging with the benefits system as the system is often adversarial and overly complex.

“With £870 million of PIP funds going unclaimed, the DWP need to do more to ensure disabled people are getting all the money they’re entitled to.”

A DWP spokesperson said: “Our welfare system supports millions of people every year and our priority is [that] they receive all the support they are entitled to.

“We promote benefits through public communications campaigns and we encourage people to phone our PIP helpline for support with their claim and to report a change in their needs or circumstances.”

How to report a change in your condition

All changes should be reported as soon as possible. This can be done by calling the PIP enquiry line or writing to the DWP.

The phone number to call is 0800 121 4433. You can also use a textphone on 0800 121 4493 or use Relay UK on 18001 then 0800 121 4433.

If you want to write, you should use the address on your benefits form.

DWP says that claimants who have difficulty engaging with the claims process can be provided with additional support if they need it, including help with completing forms.

You can also ask for someone else to be added to your call if you need help, or even ask someone else to call on your behalf.

Halide Kalfaoglu, one of Turn2us’s benefits experts says: “PIP claimants should report any changes in their condition e.g. if it gets better or worse or if the level of help, they need changes. These changes may affect the amount of PIP they receive.

“Claimants should also report any changes in their personal details, such as name, address, bank account details, GP or specialist. While these usually won’t affect the amount of PIP they receive, they still need to be reported.

“Other important changes to report include:

  • Traveling abroad
  • Going into a hospital or a care home
  • Going into prison or custody

“Claimants should also make sure to complete their PIP review form when they receive one.”

The most common changes of condition that go unreported

The DWP report lists the unreported changes that lead to unfulfilled eligibility.

These are as follows:

  • Abroad – failing to report or incorrectly reporting when the claimant or their partner returned to live in Great Britain
  • Capital – failing to report a decrease or incorrectly reporting the amount of savings in bank or building society accounts, cash, ISA/PEPs, premium bonds, other property interests or shares
  • Childcare costs – failing to report or incorrectly reporting the amount of childcare costs paid
  • Earnings/employment – failing to report a decrease or incorrectly reporting the amount of earnings from full or part-time work undertaken by the claimant or their partner.
  • Elements – failing to report or incorrectly reporting that the claimant or partner is caring for a disabled person for at least 35 hours per week
  • Eligibility conditions – failing to report changes or incorrectly reporting the personal circumstances of an ineligible partner, for example immigration status
  • Functional needs – failing to report a deterioration in their condition or a new medical condition, or incorrectly reporting their condition, where this affects their ability to carry out any of the activities on which PIP or DLA or AA is considered
  • Hospital/registered care home – failing to report or incorrectly reporting when the claimant or partner is no longer in hospital or a registered care home
  • Household composition – failing to report or incorrectly reporting changes in household composition, for example a non-dependant leaving
  • Housing costs – failing to report increases or incorrectly reporting the amount of housing costs they pay, including rent and service charges
  • Income – occupational and personal pensions – failing to report decreases or incorrectly reporting income received from a non-state pension obtained through contributions paid in past employment schemes, annuities, or personal investments
  • Income – other – failing to report decreases or incorrectly reporting income coming into the household from sources such as sick pay from work, spousal maintenance, partner’s student income, unemployment, or similar insurance policy payments
  • Income – other benefits – failing to report decreases or incorrectly reporting income received from another benefit
  • Living together – failing to report or incorrectly reporting when a claimant lives with another person and maintains a joint household
  • Tax credits – failing to report a decrease or incorrectly reporting the amount or existence of tax credits.

Reaction to Prince Harry and William secret reunion at uncle’s funeral revealed by close family friend

A CLOSE family friend of both Prince Harry and William has revealed their reaction to the brothers’ secret reunion at their uncle’s funeral.

The estranged princes attended the funeral for Lord Robert Fellowes, who was their mother Diana’s brother-in-law, but “kept their distance”.

The Duke of Sussex, 39, flew from his US home to join his brother, 42, at the service[/caption]

Sources close to US-based Harry, 39, had previously claimed he would not attend.

But a close family friend said they were “very happy to confirm both princes were there“.

They were said to have sat apart at the back of the church in Snettisham, Norfolk.

William and Harry were both there but we never saw them speak to each other and they were keeping their distance,” a source told The Sun.

Another added: “I didn’t know they were there. They arrived very discreetly.”

The brothers have barely spoken to each other since Megxit, when Harry and wife Meghan quit royal duties for a new life in the States.

Harry and William, 42, went on a walkabout at Windsor after the death of Queen Elizabeth in 2022 but have not been in the same room since the King’s Coronation more than a year ago.

Eton-educated Lord Fellowes, who died last month aged 82, worked in banking before joining the Royal Household in 1977.

He married Diana’s sister Lady Jane Spencer the following year with the future princess a bridesmaid.

He would go on to serve as Queen Elizabeth’s Private Secretary from 1990 to 1999, becoming one of her most trusted advisers during a tumultuous period, including Princess Diana’s death.

Lord and Lady Fellowes lived close to the church where yesterday’s funeral was held.

Lady Fellowes joined Harry at a service earlier this year at St Paul’s Cathedral for the tenth anniversary of his Invictus Games

Her husband featured on screen in Netflix drama The Crown where he was played by Andrew Havill.

A spokesman for Kensington Palace said they would not comment on William’s private time.

Harry’s Archewell Foundation was also approached for comment.

England newbie Angel Gomes’ former club handed transfer ban for FOURTH window running after 30 Fifa charges

PORTUGUESE side Boavista have been handed a transfer ban for the FOURTH consecutive window.

The Panthers are currently unable to register any new players.

They also have 30 suspensions at Fifa due to debts to third parties.

A statement from club president Fary Faye on the situation read: “I am writing to inform you all that, despite the enormous effort and intense negotiations carried out over the last three and a half months, it will not be possible to conclude the process relating to FIFA Transfer Bans before the close of this transfer market.

“From the very beginning, the new Board of Directors (CA) of Boavista FC, Futebol SAD has worked tirelessly, together with all parties involved, in an attempt to regularise this situation, as happened, in fact, with the licensing process in the Liga Portugal and with the resolution of national impediments.

“It is important to note that, during this period, the CA explored all legal and financial avenues in an attempt to ensure that Boavista could face the current season without this limitation that has affected us so much for three transfer markets.

“We had a clear and well-structured plan, which included the transaction of the economic rights of some players, in an operation that would serve to financially leverage the SAD and resolve FIFA’s Transfer Bans.

“However, this CA was surprised, on August 1st, with yet another unexpected situation: Sociedade BTL, holder of a credit over the Club, for which the SAD is jointly and severally liable, obtained authorisation from the Porto Judicial Court to execute the debt in question through the economic rights of the players transferred in this transfer window.

“Despite all the effort, it was not possible to overcome this obstacle in a timely manner, and this is one of the many examples of unexpected problems that the new CA has encountered in its still short period of activity.

“Even before becoming aware of this situation, CA moved forward with the signing of two players, based on the strong conviction that it would resolve FIFA’s Transfer Bans, and also opted to trade, within the initially drawn up plan, the economic rights of athletes Pedro Malheiro (23 July) and Chidozie Awaziem (25 July), operations which, it should be noted, also made it possible to resolve national impediments and ensure the renewal of the registrations of players who were already part of the SAD’s staff.”

Gomes was handed his first senior England call-up this week[/caption]

The statement went on to reveal that Boavista are exploring alternative solutions in a bid to avoid relegation from the Primeira Liga.

Former Manchester United academy star Angel Gomes spent a season on loan at Boavista during the 2020-21 campaign.

He made 32 appearances for the Portuguese side and scored six goals.

Gomes was handed his first senior England call-up this week.

He was named in Lee Carsley‘s Three Lions squad for upcoming fixtures against Ireland and Finland.

Discussing Gomes’ inclusion, the interim manager said: “Angel is someone who does it week-in, week-out for a team out in France. He is a player that, along with four or five others in the team in central midfield, is capable of doing that.

“I’m not sure why he’s not been included previously. I wouldn’t know. I know that the senior staff have watched him and how impressed they were with him from the summer he had with us.

“He’s a player that we’re probably not used to seeing in terms of that kind of player. But yet when we watched a Portugal team or a Spain team: ‘Ah, I really like that No.10. I really like him.’ We’ve got players like that within our pathway that need a chance.

“Angel has had to go to another country to get that. He was such a talent, they had such high hopes for him at Manchester United. He’s just had to find a different route to get to where he is. I expect him to go from strength to strength.”

Gomes, who currently stars for Lille in Ligue 1, has not played since he suffered a horrific head injury against Reims two weeks ago.

Chelsea’s transfer for Victor Osimhen HIJACKED as Blues gazumped by Saudis with striker to earn £33MILLION a year

VICTOR OSIMHEN is set to snub Chelsea and join Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli in a deal worth £67.3million, according to reports.

The Napoli striker, 25, has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge throughout the summer.

Meanwhile, Al-Ahli were interested in signing Brentford striker Ivan Toney – who rejected the Saudi side as he eyes a Premier League move.

Now the Middle East outfit have set their sights on Osimhen, with Sky Sports reporting he is poised to sign for Al-Ahli.

It comes after SunSport revealed Osimhen was demanding £500,000-a-week wages to join Chelsea.

He is expected to earn £635,000-a-week and £33.5m per year at Al-Ahli.

And the Saudis will pay Napoli a huge £67million transfer fee.

The Blues agreed a deal with Napoli for Romelu Lukaku to move to Italy for £38million.

But their negotiations for Osimhen have come to nothing and that now opens the door for Ivan Toney to join Chelsea.

However, Toney’s transfer to Stamford Bridge could be dependent on Chelsea’s outgoing on Deadline Day.

Where will they get changed? Jamie Carragher's huge Chelsea rant

PREMIER LEAGUE legend Jamie Carragher let rip at Chelsea's transfer market activity, going on an epic rant about the west Londoners…

He told Sky Sports: “Chelsea have just got to stop buying players and players have got to stop signing for Chelsea.

“If I was a player and look at Chelsea, why would you sign?

“The only reason you’d sign is because someone might say – your agent might say – ‘We’re getting a seven-year deal’.

“You know what I’d say? ‘Back yourself as a player, sign a four-year deal at a proper club and back yourself to do well’.

“And then when you’re due for renewal your money goes up anyway.

“I don’t understand why you’d sign a seven-year deal. Back yourself.”

He continued: “All players need competition. But every team I played in there were seven or eight players who knew they were playing every week.

“Then you’ve got six or seven players who are fighting for three positions, and then you’ve got another six players who know they are squad players.”

And of the Blues’ swollen array of talent, Carragher asked: “Where are they going to fit in the changing room?

“How are you going to put on a training session.”

The Blues want to shift Ben Chilwell who earns a whopping £200,000 per-week.

Joint top earner Raheem Sterling, who bags £325,000 per-week, is also seeking a move.

Osimhen has scored 76 goals in 133 appearances for Napoli, while Toney has bagged 72 times in 141 games for Brentford.

England striker Toney has been linked with Arsenal and Manchester United, as well as Chelsea.

Chelsea are a circus - it will be TERRIBLE for football if they win anything, says Troy Deeney

CHELSEA are a circus — aren’t they?, writes Troy Deeney.

But the bigger concern should be if somehow, some way, Todd Boehly’s insane master-plan brings about success this season.

Finish in the top four. Win a trophy like the FA Cup.

He will then turn around and say: “See, it works” and all of a sudden, other clubs will begin considering copying this mad model to try and compete in the Premier League.

Before you know it, there will be a bigger divide between the top clubs and the rest and this country’s top flight will become something we have been fighting against — a Super League.

The smaller sides and promoted teams will be wiped out by the elite and will end up saying, ‘What’s the point?’

Football as we know it will change, and there will be no going back.

As a neutral, you don’t want to wish failure on a club or a regime, but it’s depressing to think about.

We should almost be looking at it in amazement — the owners have come in with this model and they’ve treated it as if they are buying stocks and shares, not players or human beings.

Boehly has wiped away any sense of sentiment or old-school values from that club and the worrying thing is that he doesn’t seem to care.

Does he even like football?

Kate Garraway pulls out tissues as she fights back tears in emotional chat – asking grieving parents ‘how do you cope?’

KATE Garraway pulled out the tissues as she fought back tears during a hugely emotional interview on Good Morning Britain.

During Friday’s episode, the clearly-touched ITV anchor, 57, put her personal grief following the death of her husband Derek Draper to one side.

Kate was chatting to the parents of murdered 19-year-old Leah Croucher, John and Claire – and finished the heart-wrenching chat by asking if she could “give them a hug”.

An inquest confirmed Leah had been killed by sex offender Neil Maxwell – who himself was found dead in a bike shed in 2019.

Yet it has taken police four years after her disappearance to come to a conclusion on her death, with the coroner’s court only holding their session in June.

Milton Keynes-based Leah told her family she was going to work on February 15, 2019  – but was never seen again.

Her disappearance and tragic passing prompted her brother Haydon Croucher, 24, to end his life after being “tortured” by not knowing what happened to his sister.

He was found hanged at his flat in November 2019 by his mum Tracey Furness – the day before the nine-month anniversary of Leah’s disappearance.

On Friday’s Good Morning Britain, Leah’s parents addressed their double grief – as well as calling for the prison service to be reformed.

In the chat with Kate and co-host Adil Ray, 50, they told how police blunders prolonged their wait to find their missing daughter as probation services did not have the dangerous killer on their radar.

Claire opened the interview and said: “We put grief on hold for a little while because we had so much to do in the meantime.

“We are still grieving every day. We still miss her.

“We are very frustrated by the entire system.

“Getting to the inquest process took an year and a half and it felt like an extremely long time.”

As Kate, a mum-of-two herself, struggled to fight her emotion, talk turned to Haydon’s tragic suicide.

Kate, who said her final farewell to late spouse Derek at his funeral in February, said: “It’s hard to fathom how you both are managing with this grief.

“Is there a way you remember Leah or you think about Haydon that helps you?

“I’m sure your campaign for justice does …” before she broke off as she saw Claire wiping away tears.

Kate said: “Oh goodness me,” before she pulled out the tissues and added: “We are all in … I feel like that myself.

“How do you deal with it?”

Claire told how the pair take “each day one by one” yet understandably admitted how dates such as birthdays and anniversaries hit hard.

As the chat wrapped, Kate asked the Milton Keynes parents: “Can I give you a hug?

“It wont help you at all …” to which Adil interjected: “It will.”

Kate continued: “But everybody at home will be wanting us to do this, so let me give you a hug

“Oh goodness me you’re amazing, well done John.”

POLICE FAILINGS

Neil Maxwell was assessed as medium risk after convicted of sexual assault in February 2018, but it has since been decided he should have been categorised as high risk.

At the time of Leah’s killing, the suspect was wanted for a sex attack in Newport Pagnell and used false names to evade arrest.

A month before the horror, an officer raised concerns about Maxwell’s lack of communication.

Senior Coroner Tom Osborne said the failings may have played a part in Leah’s death as he confirmed he would be writing a preventing future deaths report.

n a statement after the inquest, Leah’s dad John said: “The current system is not equipped to properly manage these offenders and we fear that until these failings are properly addressed, another family will have to face the same awful consequences we will never recover from.”

KATE’S OWN BATTLE

Back in May, Kate opened up on her own grief as she admitted she was “struggling to keep her head above water” after her husband’s passing.

She had previously told of her heartbreak at her first birthday since spouse Derek’s passion.

Former political lobbyist Derek Draper, tragically died aged 56 in January, following four years of health struggles.

Dad of two Derek was left fighting for his life in hospital after suffering a heart attack over the festive period but was already one of the UK’s longest-suffering Covid patients, after being diagnosed in March 2020.

She paid a touching tribute to her late spouse at his funeral in February and, just days later, made her “brave” GMB return.
