4 hours agoNews TalkComments Off on My £1 hack slashes your getting ready routine in half – I always wake up looking perfect
GETTING ready in the morning can often feel like a race against the clock.
Whether you’ve hit the snooze button one too many times or simply have a jam-packed schedule, mastering the art of a swift morning routine is essential.
However, one aspect that can significantly slow you down in the morning is your hair.
Achieving the perfect look can often be a challenge, especially when it seems like your hair simply refuses to cooperate.
But one beauty fan has just the trick, and claims it will slash your getting ready routine in half.
Even better, it only costs £1.
Lisa Valdez, who is known as @violetlisette on TIkTok, has revealed a quick evening routine that makes all the difference for when she gets ready in the morning.
She captions it: “My 10pm will always look like this. Waking up with perfect hair is always the goal.”
Every night before she goes to bed, Lisa will brush her hair forward over her face, before then wrapping it around her head and into a side ponytail.
She then brushes her hair, before then placing a tubi over her head.
A tubi is a Dominican hair straightening technique that involves wrapping the hair in a tube-like shape to achieve bouncy, voluminous locks.
Lisa then explains that this technique allows her 9am beauty routine to be simple.
In the video, she takes off the tubi and brushes her hair forward, before bringing it back and letting it fall down naturally and brushing it out.
Online retailer SHEIN is currently selling the tubi for £1.
Her video gained a lot of attention, with many beauty fans rushing to the comments section to share their thoughts.
One wrote: “I have never in my entire life seen such beautiful hair.
You are hair goals for real!
TikTok comment
“So shiny and healthy!!”
Another added: “Wow your hair.”
A third asked: “What do I ask for to get my haircut this way please? I love the cut!”
To which Lisa replied: “It’s the butterfly cut.”
This means her hair is ready to go every morning[/caption]
But someone else said: “Whenever I do this my scalp hurts so much in the morning when I brush my hair.”
But Lisa suggested: “Yours can be too tight probably that’s why but I’ve been doing this for over 10+ years so I’m truly used to it now so maybe that’s why it doesn’t bother me.”
Another simply complimented her by writing: “You are hair goals for real!”
Hair loss tips
We can lose between 50 and 100 hairs a day, according to the NHS.
It is not usually something to worry about, but occasional it can be a sign of a medical concern.
These include illness, stress, cancer treatment, weight loss and iron deficiency.
The NHS advises to book an appointment with your GP to see if you can get to the cause of it.
4 hours agoNews TalkComments Off on Harry & Meghan are meddling in US election with hollow statements while cosying up to Bidens… we Americans are disgusted
PRINCE Harry and Meghan Markle’s foundation recently issued what has been called a ‘publicly neutral’ statement encouraging American citizens to register to vote ahead of the 2024 presidential election.
This announcement, made on National Voter Registration Day through their Archewell Foundation, positions the couple as champions of civic engagement.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been slammed for wading into US politics[/caption]
The prince is set to join First Lady Jill Biden in New York for an event[/caption]
He was seen with Jill Biden and former Democratic First Lady Michelle Obama at a 2017 event[/caption]
How hollow its professed impartiality sounds considering the track record of the failed royal social justice warriors inserting themselves into divisive issues — on the left — from race relations to America’s constitutionally guaranteed right to free speech.
To add insult to injury, today the Duke of Sussex travels to New York to participate with American First Lady Jill Biden in the Clinton Global Initiative — in the bosom of Democrat darlings.
Without further context, Archewell’s released statement emphasising voting as a fundamental tool for community influence and calls for informed civic participation seems noble enough.
Yet, the timing and history of the Sussexes’ engagement raise serious questions about their motives.
While they assert a commitment to remaining politically neutral, their intentions become murkier considered alongside next week’s love fest with Democrat standard bearers, Dr. Jill Biden and the Clintons.
It’s not as though to prove their political neutrality, the Prince of Montecito and his wife Meghan are balancing their time at the odd NRA gun rally or even a Mar-a-Lago gala.
Harry and Meghan’s latest foray into political advocacy comes amid ongoing scrutiny of their divisive actions and statements.
In the lead-up to the 2020 election, their comments sparked significant backlash, leading many to question the appropriateness of their role as former royals in American political discourse.
Despite their desire to appear neutral, Meghan’s openly expressed disdain for former President Trump is widely recognised, having been remarked upon by the Don himself.
Why on earth would anyone pay heed to the opinions of this pair who have exploited Harry’s birthright to line their pockets and establish a privileged persona in California?
Not to mention their penchant for weighing in on any matter, despite their total lack of credentials or authoritative voices in political matters.
Their lack of real engagement in the political process is evident: Harry, a foreign-born prince, has never voted in his birth nation and cannot vote in the United States, profoundly diminishing his voice as authoritative on voter participation.
“Grifters”
The perception of Harry and Meghan as “grifters,” a term used by Hollywood insiders who have worked with them, reflects a broader public sentiment regarding their authenticity.
Hollywood insiders who have worked with the couple have described them as “grifters”[/caption]
Critics say their involvement in politics is a way to enhance their personal brand[/caption]
Critics view their public statements and appearances as a means to enhance their personal brand rather than a sincere effort to contribute to democratic processes.
This perception is compounded by their history of being labeled as divisive figures, further alienating potential supporters.
Their engagement with the political sphere is viewed not as an altruistic effort but as an opportunistic maneuver to bolster their relevance.
Moreover, the timing of their voter registration push coincides with Kamala Harris’s stalling campaign, which looks increasingly to celebrity endorsements to extend its vibrancy.
The Sussexes’ election intrusions raise suspicions about whether their motivations are genuinely about voter engagement or simply about aligning with the progressive political elite to enhance their own visibility.
While Harry and Meghan call for civic engagement, their presence in American politics is inherently problematic.
Harry and Meghan's voting statement in full
IN HONOUR of National Voter Registration Day, The Archewell Foundation team came together for a meaningful volunteer activity to support and empower our communities.
Using Vote Forward’s impactful letter-writing tool, our team wrote personalised letters encouraging unregistered voters to take a crucial step: registering to vote.
Voting is not just a right; it’s a fundamental way to influence the fate of our communities. At The Archewell Foundation, we recognise that civic engagement, no matter one’s political party, is at the heart of a more just and equitable world.
By participating in initiatives like this, we aim to amplify the message that every voice matters.
We invite you to join us in this important effort. To volunteer your time and write letters to potential voters, sign up at Vote Forward’s website.
For those who wish to take immediate action, you can register to vote today by visiting Vote.gov.
Together, let’s make sure every eligible voter is informed and empowered to participate in shaping America’s future.
Their royal associations and Harry’s foreign origins render them outsiders in a political landscape that is deeply rooted in national identity.
The notion that failed British royal public servants seek to influence American civic participation is eye-rolling.
This intrusion is not merely a matter of opinion; it raises essential questions about who gets to influence American politics.
Should a British prince and his actress wife, who are often mocked for their perceived hypocrisy and lack of substance, really be weighing in on substantive issues?
Harry and Meghan’s intrusions are not only hypocritical and unwelcome but also inappropriate given that the Prince is not even a US citizen.
His position undermines the democratic process, especially when he and his wife utilise their royal titles or affiliations.
The Sussexes’ have had engagements with the Bidens and Clintons despite impartiality claims[/caption]
Critics say the pair use their royal titles for leverage[/caption]
While figures like the King, the Prince of Wales, the Edinburghs and the Princess Royal engage in meaningful work representing the UK on a global scale, the Sussexes pursue a self-serving agenda of promotion and financial enrichment.
Their political ideologies, and allies have long been known, and any efforts to purport neutrality are risible.
Flirtations with the Clintons, Bidens, and Harris defy any pathetic statements of impartiality.
Ultimately, the American public isn’t swayed by Sussexes’ antics; they have their own pressing concerns and won’t be distracted by grifters’ commentary.
Last summer, Harry was criticised as a figure too divisive, privileged and controversial to receive an award in the name of fallen Army hero Pat Tillman.
His latest actions, and his and his wife’s history wading into political debates in his host country should disqualify him decisively from the possibility of ever again resuming anything that even remotely smacks of royal duties.
4 hours agoNews TalkComments Off on My brothers star for New Zealand and one was world’s best player but I’m in the UK making my way in a different sport
THE Barrett name is an instantly recognisable dynasty in world rugby – if not arguably the most talented family in world sport.
But while three of the brothers start for the All-Blacks, fourth son Blake Barrett plays VILLAGE CRICKET in Oxford, England.
In an interview the Telegraph, Blake revealed that he plays sport at Harpsden Cricket Club in Henley-on-Thames.
But older brother Scott, 30, captains New Zealand’s rugby team, while youngest Jordie, 27, hails as a joint vice-captain with Ardie Savea.
Beauden, 33, is the fourth most capped Kiwi international with 130 appearances – 33 more than arguably the greatest ever No10 Dan Carter.
The trio of sibling All Blacks have 247 caps between them and most recently beat Australia 31-28 on Saturday.
But Blake – who himself has more than 100 caps for Coastal Rugby Club in Taranaki, New Zealand – enjoys playing village cricket over 11,658 miles away from his beloved superstar brothers.
Harpsden chairman Ben Hancock told the Telegraph: “Blake got stuck in and embraced the spirit of the club brilliantly.”
He even helps out behind the bar with girlfriend Emily and ventures to Henley cocktail bar Magoos once in a while.

It took a few weeks for Barrett’s Harpsden team-mates to cotton on to the sporting royalty they had in their midst.
Barrett said: “I think Micky Molloy, the team’s South African wicketkeeper was first.
“He was like: ‘I hate to be that guy, but obviously your last name… you’re a Kiwi… are you by any chance related to the Barrett brothers?’”
“And I was like: ‘Yeah, I am.’ And he was like: ‘That’s cool. Are they cousins or something?’”
“And I was like: ‘No, they’re my brothers.’ His jaw hit the floor.”
Blake later said that he wasn’t going to advertise it and didn’t want to “embarrass” his siblings.
The family were brought up on a coastal dairy farm near New Plymouth.
Blake also explained how competitiveness was rife among the eight siblings growing up with “fists” and “cricket balls flying” constantly.
Former All Black coach, and current Italy boss, Kieran Crowley lived next door with his family.
While oldest brother Kane was forced into early retirement following a horror concussion sustained while playing for the New Zealand U20s.
Next came Beauden and Scott, then Blake and Jordie was last – who he said is perhaps the best sportsman of them all.
Blake and partner Emily will be at Twickenham and the Aviva Stadium for this autumn’s northern hemisphere tour.
4 hours agoNews TalkComments Off on I’m an Irish driving instructor and here’s important theory test question that could be asked on day
AN Irish driving instructor has revealed the important theory test question that you could be asked on the day.
Lara, known on TikTok as @laralewisdrivingschool, is a popular instructor with almost 20,000 followers on the app.
She took to TikTok to share the question that a lot of people don’t know they may be asked.
On the day of your driving test, your examiner may ask you different theory questions that you may not be prepared for.
And Lara warned her followers that they may be asked what the difference is between a pelican and a zebra crossing.
A pelican crossing is a traffic control system that allows pedestrians to safely cross the road by pressing a button to activate traffic lights.
This crossing has a green man signal for pedestrians and a red signal for vehicles, ensuring a safe crossing for pedestrians.
A zebra crossing, however, has black and white road stripes that give priority to pedestrians, and vehicles are required to stop when someone is waiting to cross.
She said: “A pelican crossing is controlled by lights.
“A zebra crossing is controlled by flashing amber beacons which is how you’d recognise it at night, and also the presence of pedestrians at or on the crossing.”
What’s more, the driving instructor said there are plenty of other theory test questions you may be asked on the day of the exam.
Lara told her followers that she has a link in her TikTok bio to help you prepare for the questions you may not think you’ll be asked.
She added: “If you want more theory questions, go to the tab near my bio.
“They should pretty much equip you to answer all of the theory questions correctly on the day of your driving test.”
Driving test tip
This comes after another TikToker has shared the little-known mistake on the day of your driving test that could cost you €85.
@Next_level_driving_school on TikTok shares useful tips and tricks on their page.
Faded L plates could give your driving instructor a reason to cancel your test, and you may lose out on the money.
He said: “Probably better off not turning up to your test with the L plate being faded like this because you’re test might not go ahead and it will be a waste of €85.
“So make sure your L plates are in good nick.
“They’re not faded so that the tester doesn’t have the chance to not go out on the test with you.”
