Watch moment Ukraine troops take on Putin’s soldiers in Call of Duty-style battle on streets of war-torn frontline town

THIS is the dramatic moment Ukrainian troops took on Putin’s soldiers in a frontline town in true Call of Duty style.

Incredible footage shows the relentless battle on the streets of Toretsk, in the war-torn Donetsk region.

The two-minute video shared on X, formerly Twitter, shows Ukrainian units of the Lyut Assault Brigade at work as they wipe out enemy troops.

Just like in video games, a red frame would flash at every moment one of Mad Vlad’s men – who would have a Russian flag indicating their position, was hit.

A pair of dark wings would then be added to the flag once the enemy was wiped out.

The action-packed clip begins with Kyiv‘s brave men heading to the battleground in a truck before they unload the vehicle and head off to fight.

A series of POV scenes unfolds showing the flawless battle tactics on the ravaged streets of Toretsk as blasts can be seen and heard in the background.

Located close to the frontlines of the war in eastern Ukraine, Toretsk has been heavily affected by the war.

The town has experienced frequent shelling, damage to infrastructure, and significant civilian casualties due to its proximity to the conflict.

The dramatic clash comes as apocalyptic explosions tore apart two massive Russian missile and ammunition storage depots in the early hours of Saturday.

One at Tikhoretsk contained vast quantities of munitions supplied to Vladimir Putin by Kim Jong-un for use in the Kremlin dictator’s bombardment of Ukraine.

Mushroom clouds and igniting shells lit up the night sky at the facility in Krasnodar region in a devastating pinpoint strike by Ukrainian kamikaze drones early on Saturday.

But Ukraine also hit a new ammunition silo complex at Toropets in Tver region – just ten miles from an “indestructible” 30,000-ton munitions storage site that was obliterated on Wednesday.

An unconfirmed report suggested hundreds of Russian troops may have been based at the 23rd GRAU arsenal in the village of Oktyabrsky in Tver region.

Last week,  Ukraine’s special forces also blew up a Russian gas rig in a daring raid in the Black Sea.

Incredible POV footage showed some 14 Sea Force landing craft attacking the Crimea-2 off the coast of the Putin-snatched peninsula.

Video shared on Telegram and X also showed the exact moment the Black Sea rig was hit with pinpoint precision, sparking a massive fireball explosion.

The nighttime raid saw Kyiv’s men arriving in boats and later shooting at the structure as it was engulfed by flames.

Using a MANPADS, a surface-to-air missile, special forces from the GUR shot down a Russian enemy Su-30SM during the mission, causing it to crash into the water.

The attack reportedly saw Russians losing personnel and equipment, the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine claimed.

The dramatic raid appeared to have finished as the sun rose over the Black Sea, as Ukrainian special ops were seen making their way back in the early morning light.

Meanwhile, a former spymaster has said that Putin will be furious he didn’t conjure up an Israeli-style sabotage strike first.

The Russian dictator’s forces have employed sabotage in their war against Ukraine and it’s feared they could now look to copy the mass Israeli strike.

Putin also previously threatened World WarThree when he said Nato would be engaging with Russia directly if the US and UK allow Ukraine to fire their Storm Shadow and ATACMS missiles over enemy lines.

It’s understood the 29-year-old restaurant worker was being held in connection to an alleged attack on his partner, as the couple visited the country for a wedding.

The victim of the knife attack, a woman aged in her 20s, was treated in hospital for her wounds and subsequently released.

Portugal’s military police force, the National Republican Guard, stated that an investigation is underway into the circumstances of Mr Chan’s death.

His remains have now been repatriated back to Ireland by the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust, ahead of his funeral on Monday morning.

The death notice for Mr Chan said that he will be dearly missed by his loving partner Megan and their children Ezra and Eli, mother Frances, father Bobby and his wife Yvonne, brother Connor, grandmothers, aunts, uncles, cousins and a wide circle of family, friends and neighbours.

Investigators in the resort of Albufeira believe the man, 29, from Letterkenny, took his own life, after he was accused of stabbing his partner.

Officials in Portugal are liaising with Gardai on the incident.

One source said: “A lot of people in Donegal are talking about the case because the young man who died is well known.

“Nobody knows what has happened and it is a very tragic incident for everyone concerned.”

A spokesperson for the Portuguese National Republican Guard confirmed an investigation was underway.

They said: “We can clarify that in the early hours of today, a 29-year-old citizen, who was detained in Albufeira, was found lifeless inside his cell.

“Emergency services were called immediately, however the death was declared at the scene.

“The National Guard also clarifies that the individual had been detained since the previous night, following attacks on his 29-year-old partner, using a knife (bladed weapon).

“The circumstances of the death inside the cell are being investigated, and the Guard is ensuring the necessary coordination with other entities.”

Malacia has been sidelined through injury for 15 months[/caption]

His last competitive fixture came for the Netherlands in a June 2023 Uefa Nations League game before he went under the knife for a knee injury a month later.

Complications following the surgery meant he was forced to undergo a second procedure that kept him out of action for even longer.

However, the left-back has slowly been edging his way back into contention to play again.

The club released footage of Malacia doing some light jogging two months ago.

Fast forward to today and Malacia has been spotted in training with his Man Utd team-mates.

After more than a year out of action, a video of his comeback saw him given a player tunnel initiation where he ran through a crowd of team-mates and had his head playfully slapped for the ritual.

Fans were delighted to see the defender welcomed back to training.

Taking to social media, one fan said: “So happy for him.”

A second said: “Happy to see him back.”

Another said: “Amad was randomly waiting to hit him with the ball on his head.”

A fourth added: “Good vibes.”

Speaking on Malacia’s return earlier this month, manager Erik ten Hag said: “Of course, we want to motivate him to return, but it’s not so easy when you are so long away.

“Over a season now from an injury to return, but he’s working very hard, he’s progressing really well in this moment.

“He’s making big steps, so we think, at short notice, we can expect him in the team training, and he is a talent, it’s natural.

“I expect also, soon, he can return into games then.”

Ten Hag also said he would not rush Mason Mount and Rasmus Hojlund back from injury following the medical room horror show seen at the club last season.

United face Crystal Palace in the evening kick-off as they looked to capitalise on the momentum from their 3-0 win at Southampton and 7-0 win over Barnsley in the last seven days.

Conor Gallagher shows true colours with classy gesture to Chelsea academy kids after being sold to Atletico Madrid

CONOR GALLAGHER hasn’t forgotten his roots at Chelsea’s academy after sealing his big move to Atletico Madrid this summer.

The England international made the switch to the Spanish side from Chelsea last month in a deal worth around £35m.

Gallagher met with Chelsea’s youth players after they watched him play in the Champions League in Madrid[/caption]

Gallagher, 24, had been with the Blues from the age of six – rising through the ranks at Cobham before breaking into the first team after a successful loan at Crystal Palace.

And his energetic performances have now earned him a spot on Diego Simeone‘s Atletico team in La Liga.

But that leap to the Champions League giants hasn’t meant Gallagher has forgotten about the team that made him, posting a heartwarming photo on his Instagram to prove otherwise.

Gallagher posed alongside a group of Chelsea’s academy players in Madrid after they had stopped by the Metropolitano Stadium to watch the midfielder and his teammates beat RB Leipzig in the Champions League on Thursday.

Gallagher appeared to take some time to catch up with the youngsters during their trip to the Spanish capital to play in the Madrid Football Cup.

The Atletico newbie posted the picture with the youngsters alongside the caption: “Great to see some of the academy boys in Madrid.

“Appreciate you coming to watch me and the team last night. Good luck in the tournament.”

Life in Madrid has got off to a flying start for Gallagher.

Atletico remain unbeaten this season and Gallagher has already found the back of the net once in his first four appearances for the Mattress Makers.

Thursday night saw Simeone’s side fight back from an early Benjamin Sesko goal to win their opening Champions League clash after Antoine Griezmann and Jose Maria Gimenez netted for the La Liga club.

In fact, things are going so well for Gallagher that he has already been given his own chant by Atletico’s adoring fans.

And he is certainly feeling the love after being effectively forced out of the club at Chelsea this summer.

Speaking to The Athletic about his move to Atletico Madrid, he said: “I’ve felt very wanted and appreciated, which is important for any footballer.

“Chelsea are a huge football club, one of the biggest in the world, along with Atletico, but I have taken that exciting step of playing Champions League football and challenging for trophies.

“It just builds me with even more confidence and happiness to play my best football. It was just full of excitement to be joining Atletico.”

Crucial route used by 38,000 drivers daily to shut for a YEAR for £25m upgrade project – check exact closure times

A CRUCIAL route used by 38,000 drivers every day is set to close for a year as part of a £25 million upgrade plan.

The road, which is the only one of its kind in Europe, is managed by space-age tech which needs to be updated.

Drivers will face significant disruption along the A38 in Cornwall, particularly at the Saltash Tunnel.

National Highways is undertaking the £25 million refurbishment of the road over the next few months.

This will see upgrades to the tunnel itself, as well as new LED lights, electronic signs and cooling fans.

The road is the only crossing in Europe that operates a tidal flow system, where the direction of the lanes changes based on demand.

Highway bosses insist that the revamp is “essential” to maintain the safe flow of traffic, with the complex technology that manages it set to be updated.

Some preparatory work has already taken place, with old cables stripped out earlier this year.

This has also seen the speed limit lowered from 70mph to 50mph on a large section of the road, while new cameras have been put in to enforce the 30mph on another stretch.

The next stage of the project will see new fixtures installed, including automatic barriers to close the road off in the event of an emergency.

Closures will begin this November and are expected to last until the Autumn of 2025.

The restrictions will see the tunnel become inaccessible between 8pm to 6am on weeknights throughout that period.

Drivers will instead be provided with two diversion routes, one via the B3271 and the other through North Road.

The inner westbound lane will also be narrowed until Sprin 2025, with the tidal flow system suspended.

Overall, the road is expected to fully reopen after 12 months.

Julian Mitchell, Tunnel Manager for National Highways, said: “The tunnel is safe but it is essential that we replace our systems which have been operating for 20-plus years, to make the tunnel fit for now and for the future.

“The tunnel and the tidal flow corridor rely on specialised technology to operate and keep our customers safe, there’s been a considerable amount of planning over several years to identify efficiencies and bring the tunnel’s systems up to modern standards, and ultimately this will reduce the number of future maintenance closures.

“We appreciate the scheme will have some impact on road users and Saltash residents, but we’re keeping the closures to an absolute minimum and we thank all drivers and residents in advance for their co-operation and patience ahead of starting work on this generational upgrade.

“We’ll be keeping local communities informed ahead of start of work and in the meantime, we advise people to prepare, plan ahead and consider a little extra time for their overnight journeys.”
