Richard Archer from Hard-Fi took to TikTok to reveal the band were making new music.

“Alright, how’s it going? You’ve joined me in the beer garden of the pub,” he said before taking a sip of his pint.

“Got some very exciting news, Hard-Fi are releasing some music,” but before he could continue a stranger jumped in.

“Oi mate,” the man said, but Richard tried to continue his message.

“Hard-Fi are releasing some new music for the first time in…” he said before the boozed up man continued to interrupt him.

“Bruv, can you just give us five minutes,” Richard asked.

“Hard-Fi? Never heard of them mate,” the man said.

“You never heard of Hard-Fi? Alright check this out” Richard said.

He added clips from music videos of their biggest hits over the years, including Living for the Weekend and Cash Machine.

“Never heard of ’em,” Richard wrote in the TikTok video caption.

Despite the rude interruption, fans were thrilled by the news.

“Stars of CCTV is a mint album,” one wrote.

“I remember Hard-Fi, wicked band,” said another.

“Soooooooo glad you are coming back! For me, this is better than this Oasis nonsense,” a third wrote.

“Always loved your music – I’ve never stopped listening to it ever since I was a kid. Can’t wait for new music,” said a fourth.

Hard-Fi swept the charts in the early 2000s before taking a hiatus in 2014.

During their career, Hard-Fi had six Top 20 singles including Cash Machine, Hard To Beat and Suburban Knights.

Their albums Star of CCTV and Once Upon A Time In The West both reached Number One in the album charts.

Speaking about their break from performing shortly after releasing a greatest hits album in 2014, Steve told The Mancunion: “We never actually really split up, everyone had kids.”

“We decided it was the right time to bring it back up. It made sense for us kind of artistically and friendshipwise to bring it back.”

Speaking about whether he gets nervous before a gig he said: “If you’re not nervous you don’t care.

“We’re always a little bit nervous even if it’s a crowd of 50 people or 5,000 people or 50,000 people, it really doesn’t matter.”

Richard admitted that their hiatus lasted longer than he had planned.

“Everyone experiences it, don’t they, but you don’t quite know where the years went,” he told The Yorkshire Post.

“The start of it was Ross, our guitarist, had his first child and said, ‘I want to spend more time at home’, and that was all fair enough.

“Then Steve wanted to go and do a degree.”

Drummer Steve, 44, who suffers from Crohn’s disease, studied for a degree in nutrition at the Open University.

As well as turning his attention to health and wellbeing, he also enjoyed another niche hobby – fly fishing.

Taking his aquatic love to the next level, he trained to be a fly fishing instructor.

‘It’s been emotional watching my ex move on,’ says Gogglebox’s Daniel as he defends ex Stephen on Celebs Go Dating

GOGGLEBOX star Daniel Lustig-Webb has admitted that it’s been “emotional” watching his ex Stephen on Celebs Go Dating.

The TV favourite, 49, said he initially did not plan to watch his ex on the E4 show, but admitted he is proud of Stephen for putting himself out there in a bid to find love again.

Daniel, who split from Stephen after six years of marriage, praised his former partner as “generous” but described him as “Marmite” – after he received backlash from some of his dates for his “inappropriate” jokes.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun, Daniel said: “Stephen’s done well, he’s had a lot of flak but I think his whole story goes really positive.

“I think people will start to see the real Stephen.

“He’s never been shy, he is quite naughty, he likes to push the boundaries – he’s marmite, he might say something and they might go ‘you can’t say that’, but he just wants a response from people.

“He is the most playful person, he’s not harmful at all. I remember all of our first dates, he was so lovely and such a generous person.

“Some will get him, he’s marmite, some will get him and some won’t.”

Opening up about Stephen dating for the first time after their split, Daniel said: “I’ve watched all of it so far, I wasn’t going to watch it at all.

“Some of it is hard to watch, it’s quite emotional.

“Sometimes I’m like ‘don’t say that, stop it’, but he’s doing well.

“We still live together, we haven’t sold our flat and we still work together.

“We’ve spoken about his dates and I’ve been on the show and watched him get ready and tell him to ‘have a good time on his dates’.

“I’m on it again when I help him chose his outfits.

“We’re both in a space now where we want to move on.

“We just need to sell our flat and we can, we are still business partners, we have dogs.”

Daniel admitted it’s been tough to watch his ex date on TV, saying: “It’s a weird one, when you go through separation and divorce, you don’t expect to watch it on the telly.

“But that is our life, we opened up our life to everyone being on Gogglebox and talked about everything and now it’s out there.”

Daniel added: “Stephen’s journey will go high high high and it has and everyone will see a softer side to him.

“I think he’s probably taken away a better way of understanding how people react to him and reacting to his humour.”

Meanwhile, Daniel said he’s put himself on Hinge in a bid to find love.

He told us: “There are some nice good looking guys on there, I have been on a few dates with the same guy. It’s very early days.”

He added: “Last time when I went for Stephen, who is complete opposite to me, this time I’m looking for someone I connect with and who is similar to me.”

Daniel laughed: “I’m not in a rush, I’m still married…I haven’t got rid of this one yet.”

Last month, some fans called out Stephen and urged him to “dial down his ego”.

Stephen met up with agents Anna Williamson and Dr. Tara Sunwinyatthichaiporn following one of his dates.

He told the experts: “The last date, Danny, he was lovely. I felt he was a little bit nervous.

“I really listened and actually I was really interested in what he was saying.

“I was trying to be attentive to him and I was aware not to be too flirty because I’d gone overboard on my last two dates.”

Tara told him: “The fact you recognised this and assessed yourself is a big improvement.”

Later, the star expressed his delight at finally getting “positive feedback from the agents”.

Fans were not impressed, as one wrote: “Stephen needs to dial down his ego #celebsgodating.”

Another added: “Stephen was NOT interested and he WAS flirty this guy talks so much s**t #CelebsGoDating”

This experience followed an awkward previous date with Dean Muir, who brutally rated the experience zero out of ten.

The 39-year-old driving instructor told The Sun: “Stephen asked if I had sex with my pupils in the car.

“It was completely inappropriate. “

The show’s current line-up also includes Jamelia, Ella Morgan, Helen Flanagan, Chris Taylor, Tristan Phipps and Lauryn Goodman.

Celebs Go Dating airs on E4.

CARDIFF and Leeds fans have united for an incredible Sol Bamba tribute after the ex-Prem star’s death aged 39.

The march started with a minute’s applause for Bamba[/caption]

His heartbroken wife Chloe praised his “astounding mental and physical strength and stoicism” during his health battle.

She said: “Unfortunately, it was never a fair fight and just when things were looking up he took a downturn and finally succumbed on 31st August.”

Then added: “Sol accepted his fate as God’s will and left this earth knowing, without a shadow of a doubt, that he was loved wholeheartedly. I made sure of that.”

Bamba and Chloe shared three children – Roonea, Lily and Amy.

Bamba was known as one of the good guys of football and made 51 appearances for Leeds United and 24 for Middlesbrough.

He played in the Premier League with Cardiff City in the 2018-2019 season after being promoted in second place in the Championship the previous year.

Cardiff City said Bamba was a “club legend” and his death brought them the “deepest sadness”.

“As a player and coach, Sol’s impact on our football club was immeasurable. He was a hero to all of us, a leader in every dressing room and a true gentleman.

“Our thoughts are with his friends, family and everyone lucky enough to know and love Sol.”

Leeds United said in a post on X: “Everyone at #LUFC is devastated to learn of the news that former #LUFC captain Sol Bamba has passed away.

“Our thoughts and condolences are with his family and friends at this tragic time. Rest in peace, Sol, you will be forever in our hearts.”

Middlesbrough FC said: “We are devastated to learn of the passing of Sol Bamba at the age of 39.

“Our thoughts are with Sol’s family and friends at this time.”

Former club Trabzonspor paid a heartbreaking tribute to their former player who made 27 appearances.

They said in a statement: “We have learned with deep sorrow the passing of Adanaspor Coach Sol Bamba, who wore our jersey between 2012-2014.

“May God have mercy on him and we offer our condolences to his family and all his loved ones.”

He was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma on Christmas Eve 2020 but had beaten it after undergoing four months of chemotherapy and was declared cancer-free.

Bamba was born in France but made 46 appearances for the country of his parents’ birth – Ivory Coast.

After playing he stayed with football and moved into management as an assistant manager with Cardiff City in 2023.

He was technical director of Turkish side Adanaspor this year.

That club shared a tribute to the manager saying he “fell ill” before a match yesterday and “was taken to Manisa Celal Bayar University Hospital and unfortunately lost his battle for life there.

“Our condolences to his family and our community.”

Just days before his death Bamba posted a heartbreaking tribute to ex-England manager Sven-Göran Eriksson following his passing from terminal cancer.

Bamba’s tribute read: “Deeply devastated by the news of Sven’s passing today.

“He was not just an exquisite person, but he was also the best coach I’ve ever had, inspiring my journey as a player but also as a manager.

“My sincere condolences to his family and loved ones. Rest in peace, Sven.”

The pair had first worked together from 2011, when Bamba joined Leicester City where Eriksson was manager.

They later reunited in the Ivory Coast national team setup.
