England stars upset at being charged commission by PFA for doing commercial work on international duty

ENGLAND players are not happy at having to pay 10 per cent commission to the PFA on commercial work during international duty.

The players’ union took over responsibility for negotiating Three Lions stars’ sponsorship and endorsement deals before last summer’s Euros in Germany.

Promoting commercial partners such as Budweiser comes with a fee whilst on international duty[/caption]

PFA chiefs also agreed to help them during negotiations with the FA over fees for personal appearances to promote commercial partners such as Nike and Budweiser.

The new deal is thought to have been struck on behalf of the squad late last season by England’s senior leadership team — led by captain Harry Kane.

But a number of players are understood to have been surprised to learn in recent weeks that they agreed to pay a 10 per cent fee to the PFA.

SunSport understands this issue was raised when England met up for Nations League duty earlier this month.

Yet there is no appetite to renegotiate the contract.

Many players assumed the PFA were obliged to act on their behalf — or at least would offer a discount on commission.

The PFA declined to comment, but sources close to the union told SunSport that a 10 per cent rate was standard practice across the industry, with the money required to cover their costs.

In addition to negotiating with potential sponsors and the FA, the union’s legal team will also provide support to the players.

FOOTBALL FREE BETS AND SIGN UP DEALS

Three Lions stars’ commercial dealings have been shrouded in controversy for years, much of which surrounds Gareth Southgate’s former agent Terry Byrne.

He negotiated a 14-year deal with the FA to represent the squad — but was paid off last season amid a long-running dispute.

The FA declined to comment.

Harry Kane reveals his favourite England goals

HARRY KANE is already England’s all-time record goalscorer.

But the Three Lions skipper will NOT be stopping there.

To mark his 100th cap for his country, Kane spoke to SunSport’s CHARLIE WYETT about some of his special England goals….

FIRST ENGLAND GOAL

“My debut v Lithuania. March 2015.

“There was a lot of talk in the build-up to that camp because I was playing well for Spurs.

“I got a great reception and within a couple of minutes I scored a goal.

“I don’t think I could have dreamed it any better.

“My friends and family were there. That was a really special night.”

FAVOURITE ENGLAND GOAL

“It’s between two, for me.

“Against Germany, the one at Wembley in Euro 2020.

“Also, the header against Tunisia at the World Cup in 2018.

“That moment of scoring a last-minute winner at my first World Cup was special.”

BEST ENGLAND GOAL

“The one I scored in Poland away in a World Cup qualifier in 2021. It was from 25 yards.”

(Kane picked up the ball from Kyle Walker, advanced towards goal and put his foot through it.)

“It kind of drifted away and it was a good strike, probably my furthest-out goal for England.”

Dad-of-two ‘paid hitman neighbour £1.5k to kill his wife – then kicked off when he saw her still breathing on beach’

A DAD paid a hitman £1,500 to kill his wife – then kicked off when he saw her “still breathing” on a beach, a court heard.

Paul Lewis, 54, allegedly handed over the cash “in good faith” to bump off his estranged wife of ten years Joanne Atkinson-Lewis.

He gave neighbour Dominique Saunders £1,500, jurors were told[/caption]

Neighbour Dominique Saunders, 34, took the bounty and vowed to hire a hitman to do the job before claiming he had images of the so-called killing, jurors heard.

But the following day, Lewis saw Joanne “still breathing” while walking on Aberavon beach in Wales.

Swansea Crown Court heard he messaged Saunders due to his “increasing frustration” – but was told to “grow a pair” and sort his own problems out.

Saunders carried out Google searches for guns, coffins, car hire, Charles Bronson and “Vince from Swansea who killed a person”.

He also searched post codes in Port Talbot where Joanne lived, the court was told.

His alleged scheming was exposed when the couple’s son Keiran Lewis went to his dad’s home in April 2023 and asked him outright.

He told jurors: “I asked him bluntly whether he had put a hit out on Joanne. He nodded in response.

“With my father’s permission I began looking through his phone and as I did so he mentioned something about Dominique sorting it out.

“That’s when I understood there was more than just him involved in this.”

In her own evidence, Joanne told how her “very old fashioned” husband was never violent but would “turn things” to make them her fault.

She said Lewis left the family home in January 2021 before messaging her six weeks later saying he wanted a divorce.

The couple had been together for 16 years and married for ten before splitting.

The court was told Lewis was diagnosed with complex PTSD, was on medication for depression and he had been a patient at a psychiatric hospital before the alleged murder plot.

Paul Lewis and Dominique Saunders, both of Swansea, deny conspiracy to commit murder.

The trial continues.

The trichologist advised her audience to wash their hair every day and avoid letting it air dry[/caption]

In her viral video, TikTok user Daniela (@camelglow) broke down each of her divisive hacks.

For her first recommendation, the hair expert advised her audience to wash their hair every day.

“This can help remove excess oil, dirt, and product build-up,” she explained.

According to Daniela, this helps to promote a “cleaner scalp and healthier hair.”

“However, it may not be suitable for all hair types, as it can strip natural oils,” she warned.

For her next tip, the TikToker explained why she recommends blow drying over air drying.

“Blow drying can help style hair quickly and create volume,” she told her audience.

“It also reduces the risk of frizz and damage caused by prolonged exposure to moisture, especially in humid conditions.”

Finally, Daniela revealed the beauty buy she substitutes for dry shampoo.

“Micellar water can gently cleanse the hair and scalp without creating build-up,” she explained.

The unusual technique rose in popularity after it went viral on TikTok earlier this year.

Experts recommend using the hack on thin, oily, or curly hair.

While micelles are not harmful to your locks, they have been found to be more effective on certain kinds of hair.

You can pick up a bottle of Pure Micellar Water from Waitrose for £2.50.

The haircare pro explained that the popular make-up remover can “effectively remove impurities and build-up while hydrating the hair.”

The five best DIY hair hacks

One beauty expert has shared the easy way to refresh your hair in between washes without reaching for the dry shampoo.

A hairstylist has revealed the best way to get rid of flyaways in seconds for picture-perfect hair.

Sick of you hair falling flat? One woman shared the easy trick to add extra volume without backcombing your roots.

Plus, one hairstylist shared how to keep your hair straight and frizz-free without using any heat.

For blondies among us, it turns out you’ve been applying purple shampoo all wrong and the right way will stop it from going patchy.

“It’s a lightweight option for refreshing hair between washes,” Daniela said.

Her followers shared their thoughts on the advice in the comments section.

“I tried the micellar water once and went on an expedition to find the best clarifying shampoo,” one viewer wrote.

“They all didn’t fix the ‘film’ from micellar water. Never again.”

“My hair can’t take that amount of heat, it’ll perish,” said another person.

In the process of crafting their first song, the girl band discover that they have a lot to say, and find it easier to express their frustrations and desires through music.

The six part series will explore themes of friendship, resilience, and the struggle from women to defy social expectations.

As the leads juggle demanding jobs and complicated family dynamics, the band becomes an escape for them and eventually begins to transform their lives.

They are joined by Tamsin Greig (Sexy Beast, The Completely Made Up Adventures of Dick Turpin) as Holly, Lorraine Ashbourne (Sherwood, Alma’s Not Normal) as Jess, and Amelia Bullmore (The Buccaneers, Vienna Blood) as Yvonne.
