If You’re Over 60, Stop Wearing These 5 Jeans

A pair of jeans can make or break your outfit no matter what your age, but as our bodies change, so should our sartorial choices. Age-appropriate clothing doesn’t mean looking frumpy or dowdy—but unfortunately, the wrong jeans can make you look and feel just wrong. YouTube influencer Heather Sinclair knows a thing or two about how to dress for success—especially when it comes to denim. “Since denim is so popular, especially this year, this fashion tutorial should help with wardrobe choices,” she says in her video. “Although my styling tutorials are popular with women over 50 and 60 this one could be of interest to a woman in her 40s too.” Here’s what she has to say.

1.  Cheap, Stretchy Jeans

Cheap, Stretchy Jeans

Sinclair, in her video, says cheap, stretchy jeans are a complete waste of money. “Let's start with mistake number one. And that's all about buying a really inexpensive, cheaper pair of stretchy jeans that are well, not well-made. Now, I know many of you are watching your money, but a cheap pair of not well-made stretchy jeans is like throwing your money away. Better to invest in a brand with a superior stretch.”

2.  Jeans That Are the Wrong Length

Jeans That Are the Wrong Length

Make sure your jeans are the correct length for your shoes, Sinclair says in her video. “Next, let's talk about wearing our jeans, different kinds of shoes and having the wrong length. In other words, we got the pants dragging on the ground. Nothing ruins an outfit more than pants dragging, especially when shorter styles are trending. Not only does it look bad, but you're going to wear out the bottom of those pants. better to go with a higher length.”

3.  Jeans That Are the Wrong Fit

Heather Sinclair holding a sizing chart

Make sure your jeans actually fit properly. “Let's talk about the next mistake number three, and that is not getting the right fit. Now, you can always order your jeans online, and if you buy them from Amazon, the jeans that I just mentioned like Lee and NYDJ, you can send them back if they don't fit,” Sinclair says in her video. “But let me save you a little bit of time here because what you should be doing is measuring yourself, your inseam, your waist, et cetera. And then what you're going to do is you're going to look at almost every item, not just jeans, that has a size chart and you're going to make sure that you get as close to that manufacturer's size chart as possible.”

4.  Wide-Leg Jeans

Wide-Leg Jeans

Wide-leg jeans are trendy, but they can easily look wrong. “What's trending right now are wide leg pants, but wow, you really have to style them right to wear them properly,” Sinclair says in her video. “If you wear a baggy top over these, you're going to look huge… I tuck in a fitted shirt and it looks much better. I'm also not wearing a belt because I don't want to cut myself off at the waist.”

5.  Skinny Jeans

Skinny Jeans

Not all skinny jeans are bad—but if they make you uncomfortable, don’t wear them and got for a skimming jean instead. “If your idea of skinny jeans were like jeggings that you had to lie on the bed to zip up, then yes, those ones are out anyway,” Sinclair says in her video. “These are out of style, but I don't know about you, but I could barely sit down in those jeggings. Instead, we have a skimming jean.”

Watch moment Chinese Elon Musk-style SpaceX knock-off rocket EXPLODES in botched landing in stunning drone footage

STUNNING drone footage has captured the moment a Chinese SpaceX knock-off rocket exploded in a huge fireball during a botched landing

The rocket, inspired by Elon Musk’s reusable Falcon 9, was attempting to land vertically, but failed terribly after crashing in its final stage.

Deep Blue Aerospace said it conducted what it called a “high-altitude” test flight of its Nebula-1 rocket.

The test flight was going fine initially, but a sudden technical error just before landing forced the shuttle to crash and explode in a massive blaze.

Stunning footage shows the rocket trying dramatically trying land in a vertical position.

But as soon as it reached the launchpad, the landing systems failed and the thrusters stopped working – and the rocket plunged to the ground in a fireball crash.

Nebula-1 rocket could only reach an altitude of 3 miles before crashing at the Ejin Banner Spaceport in Inner Mongolia.

The Chinese startup company said the shuttle was able to complete 10 out of 11 tests but failed at the last stage.

This is not the first Chinese rocket to try the ambitious vertical take-off and landing, achieved successfully by Musk’s SpaceX.

CHINA’S THREATENING SPACE AMBITIONS

Under dictator Xi’s leadership, China has been brewing ambitious plans to become the leader of the global space rush.

The country spent roughly £11.2billion on its space programme in 2023, according to Statista.

While China was late to the first round of the space race, Beijing is investing heavily in becoming the second nation to put humans on the Moon by 2030.

The Chinese-owned Tiangong space station was completed in late 2022, and has been permanently manned since then.

China has doubled the number of satellites it has in orbit since 2019, according to the US Defence Intelligence Agency.

Experts also fear that China’s monster network of tracking satellites could snoop on Western military operations.

Washington and Beijing currently have the most developed plans for securing separate permanent bases on the Moon, out of any other country in the world.

And fears are China, if it succeeds in making a giant leap ahead of the US, could threaten aggression in space.

A series of non-binding bilateral agreements called the Artemis Accords have been signed between the US and other nations to assure peace in space and on other planets.

However, China has stayed out of the agreement, indicating a potential threat from the communist country.

Nasa chief Bill Nelson, who has been outspoken about his fears surrounding China’s activities in space, said: “My concern would be if China got there first and said, ‘This is our territory, you stay out’.

“Obviously you don’t want to interfere with each other but don’t declare that this whole territory is suddenly yours.”

China’s military presence in the South China Sea signals how the country might behave on the lunar surface, Nelson has previously claimed, which would breach the 1967 Outer Space Treaty.

The country is also developing giant spy balloons and hypersonic missiles.
