SPIDER season is in full swing.

And while we’re all trying different tips and tricks to keep the creepy crawlies out of our houses, our cars are often forgotten.

There’s a certain area of the car you need to regularly clean to keep creepy crawlies away, as it’s a “spider hotspot”[/caption]

However, according to one car expert, there’s a “spider hotspot” in every vehicle that could be housing tonnes of the little beasts.

“If you suffer from arachnophobia – aka, a fear of spiders – don’t be afraid of cleaning your vehicle’s interior regularly during spider season,” Graham Conway said.

“Spiders will naturally gravitate towards dark, sheltered spaces – which includes any discarded bags, wrappers and cartons you might have lying around.”

So by having a messy car, you’re effectively “rolling out the red carpet for arachnids”.

And don’t forget to get rid of stray items of clothing or shoes too, as they can be “another obvious place for spiders to potentially lurk”.

You should also give your car’s air vents a good clean regularly, because “this is another spider hotspot”, Graham, from Select Car Leasing, warned.

Another way you can keep spiders out of your car is by picking up an orange in your next supermarket shop.

Spiders are believed to “detest” the smell of citrus, Graham explained, which we can use to our advantage.

“You might try rubbing some lemon or orange peel around your window and door frames as a means to repel spiders,” he said.

“You could also leave the peel in the car overnight.”

But if you’re still finding more spiders than you would like in your car, it’s important to check if there’s an “obvious entry point into your vehicle that you’re missing”.

“The rubber seals around windows and boots might be a potential weak point, particularly if they’re perished or broken,” he continued.

“The good news here is that rubber seals are relatively inexpensive to replace.

“And it might sound obvious but make sure your windows are fully rolled-up, too, as even the smallest gap is enough to invite spiders inside.”

Even with all these tips, you may still encounter a creepy crawly in your car.

And if that happens, it’s vital to make sure you stay calm.

“Simply pull over when it’s safe to do so, rather than panicking and potentially causing a risk to other road users,” Graham said.

“If a spider encounter leads to a complete head loss behind the wheel, you could end up with a prosecution for careless driving – which means a fine of up to £2,500, nine points on your licence and even worse if anyone is injured as a result.”

FIVE people are missing after a firefighting helicopter with at least six people onboard crashed into a river in Portugal in front of horrified tourists.

The chopper pilot is said to have been rescued by a tourist boat following the terrifying plunge.

The helicopter is said to be underwater in the Douro River following the smash in Cambres near the city of Lamego.

Local reports say the police are members of an emergency protection and help unit of the GPR police force called the UEPS.

The alarm was raised around 12.30pm this afternoon.

A vast search and rescue operation is now underway in the area.
GNR chief Mafalda Gomes de Almeida has confirmed the only person rescued so far is the helicopter pilot.

The band revealed on August 26, 2024, that none of their reunion performances will be televised.

This means that your only chance to see the biggest reunion of the century is to get your hands on a ticket.

How much do Oasis tickets cost?

Most of the Oasis standing tickets will start at £135 (£151 with fees), while seated tickets start at around £65 (£73 with fees).

And, fans wanting the Champagne Supernova experience will be able to splash out on seats in the hospitality area, which start at £250 (£268 including fees).

Top tips for getting Oasis tickets and mistakes to avoid when buying them

Fans were able to increase their chances of getting tickets for the Oasis Live ’25 tour through a pre-sale ballot, however this is now closed.

Those lucky enough to win a place in the ballot have been sent an access code to get their tickets before anyone else.

These codes were released at 12pm on August 30, 2024.

Fans who have been successful in the ballot have been notified by email and have from 7pm until 10pm to pre-order tickets.

They are only allowed to buy up to four tickets per access code.

Who is in Oasis?

Oasis has had its fair share of band members over the years.

While the full line-up for the upcoming tour hasn’t been revealed yet, three legends are nailed on to perform.

The group announced their epic comeback on X/Twitter with a cheeky clip of Noel and Liam Gallagher kissing, both of whom will certainly be taking to the stage.

Guitarist Bonehead can also be seen in the 90-second video of past gigs — and it was confirmed he will join the band’s hugely anticipated 14-date tour.

The group began with five members when they formed in 1991 — the original line-up was Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs (guitar), Paul “Guigsy” McGuigan (bass), Tony McCarroll (drums), Noel (lead guitar and vocals) and Liam Gallagher (lead vocals).

McCarroll was replaced by Alan White in 1995, before Arthurs and McGuigan were replaced by Gem Archer and Andy Bell in 1999.

White was replaced by Zac Starkey in 2004, who was then succeeded by Chris Sharrock in 2008.

Following Oasis’ split in 2009, the remaining members of the band formed Beady Eye with Liam Gallagher, which disbanded in 2014.

As of August 30, 24, it is not known who will join Liam, Noel and Bonehead on tour next year.

Who will support Oasis on their 2025 tour?

Support acts for the Oasis Live ’25 tour haven’t been confirmed yet.

Blossoms had one of the teaser dates both Liam and Noel shared on social media pop up at their Wythenshawe Park, Manchester gig on Sunday, August 25 — so it looks like they might have secured a spot.

Fans online have suggested Noel’s respect for Kneecap, the Irish hip-hop act, could see them performing at the Croke Park dates.

Other rumours include Liam’s son Gene‘s band Villanelle, Kasabian and Richard Ashcroft appearing.
