His character, General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, appears to have undergone the same gamma radiation treatment that created the green hulk/Bruce Banner, played by Mark Ruffalo in previous Avengers flicks.

He is seen explaining how he had to take the extreme measures to save his life and become US President.

In the trailer for the movie, which airs next year, Ross is heard saying he did: “What was necessary to save this country.”

And new images released by Marvel reveal how he actually transforms into the roaring red giant as the POTUS prepares to make an address at a podium in front of the White House.

That left them speechless.

Martin Lewis’ MSE reveals top tip for Tesco shoppers as £14million worth of Clubcard vouchers expire TODAY

MARTIN LEWIS’ Money Saver Expert has revealed a top tip for Tesco shoppers as £14m of Clubcard vouchers are set to expire.

Many of us get vouchers as gifts from family and friends to store them away and forget about them.

Alamy
Tesco Clubcards can be used by customers for their weekly shop[/caption]

But there is one trick that shoppers can do to extend their life and even another to get more value from them.

Vouchers issued in August 2022 are set to expire on Saturday August 31.

Only valid for two years, those who have them stored away will need to act fast.

But you can get an extension on the vouchers with a few small hacks.

MSE says shoppers will need to make a small purchase on the Clubcard Rewards page to get the remaining balance credited back on the Clubcard.

MSE says: “So if you spend 50p using a £5 Clubcard voucher, you’ll get 450 points back (worth £4.50).”

Once you’ve done that, you can then swap your points for vouchers manually or wait for them to be converted with your next statement with the new expiry date two years into the future.

There’s no minimum spend, but the aim’s to shell out as little as possible.

MSE says: “You’ll need to do this for each individual voucher, so it’s worth weighing up if it’s actually worth it for smaller denominations.

“For example, if you’ve a £10 voucher it could be worth it. If you’ve got a handful of £1 vouchers, maybe less so.”

But you’ll need to act fast and do so by midnight tonight.

The vouchers can be used by customers to lower the cost of their weekly shop, pay for fuel or to pick up a new deal with Tesco Mobile.

Shoppers will be able to double the value of the vouchers by spending them at Tesco’s Reward Partners.

Tesco’s Reward Partners, such as Cineworld, Disney+, and Prezzo, all allow you to spend the rewards points there.

If you want to use them at Tesco, vouchers can be cashed in in-store and online to save money.

If you decide to use your vouchers for your Tesco shop, every 150 points can be exchanged to the value of £1.50.

You can also swap vouchers for money off your Tesco mobile bill.

If you’ve lost your vouchers you can check on the Tesco Clubcard site or app.

Lizzie Reynolds, Tesco Group’s membership and loyalty director said: “The summer holidays are an expensive time of year for families, with many people looking to find affordable ways to entertain the kids.

“Clubcard vouchers could go towards everything from a family visit to a theme park to a day out at a castle, so I’d urge Clubcard members to check their vouchers and make sure they don’t miss out.”

Whilst there is no minimum spend, those using a Clubcard to get the most from their pennies should look for cheap purchases.

What can I get with Tesco Clubcard?

TESCO’S Clubcard scheme allows shoppers to earn points as they shop.

These points can then be turned into vouchers for money off food at the supermarket, or discounts at other places like restaurants and days out.

Each time you spend £1 in-store and online, you get one point when you scan your Clubcard.

Drivers using the loyalty card get one point for every two litres spent on fuel.

One point equals 1p, so 150 points gets you a £1.50 money-off voucher, for example.

You can double their worth when you swap them for discounts with “reward partners”.

For example, £12 worth of vouchers can be swapped for a £24 three-month subscription to Disney+.

Or you can swap 50p worth of points for £1 to spend at Hungry Horse pubs.

Where you can spend them changes regularly, and you can check on the Tesco website what’s available now.

Tesco shoppers can also get Clubcard prices when they have the loyalty card.

The discounted items change regularly and without a Clubcard you’ll pay a higher price.

These Clubcard prices are usually labelled on shelves, along with the non-member price.

But it’s worth noting that just because it’s discounted doesn’t necessarily make it the cheapest around, and you should compare prices to find the best deal.

You can sign up to get a Tesco Clubcard in store or online via the Tesco website.

FIELD OF GOLD (3.35 Sandown, nap)

He looked a star in the making when winning easily at Newmarket last time. This son of Kingman was green but he cruised into contention before picking up strongly to win going away by more than three lengths. The Gosdens know what it takes to win this contest having taken it three times in the past 11 years  — including with Kingman himself in 2013.

COMMANCHE FALLS (2.05 Beverley, nb)

The veteran was as good as ever when going close in a hot contest at York last time. His stamina will be an asset when they hit the uphill finish.

INVOLVEMENT (3.00 Sandown, treble)

He went close in a French Listed contest on the back of a good Newmarket handicap win. He looks on a fair weight to strike again under William Buick.

Templegate’s telly verdicts

CHESTER

2.40

UNDER SIEGE has a lot more to offer making his handicap debut. He ran well in some really hot races before getting his head in front at Chelmsford. The handicapper hasn’t gone mad with his opening mark and stall three is a plus around this tight track.

Carrytheone will need some luck given he likes to be held up but he followed a Chepstow win with a cracking third at the Shergar Cup where he was held up for too long. He’s back from the same mark with every chance if he gets the breaks.

Yanifer was a good winner here over slightly shorter last time despite having to come wide around the bend. He was full of running at the line so a 4lb rise in the weights may not be enough to stop him with some cut in the ground ideal.

3.15

SAMUI has hardly put a foot wrong on the Flat and followed a 17-length handicap debut win at Killarney with a close second in good company at York. Gordon Elliott doesn’t send many over from Ireland to run on the level and this five-year-old has more improvement to come.

Caius Chorister has her sights lowered after a couple of lesser efforts. She was outclassed in the Ascot Gold Cup before a fair fourth at Glorious Goodwood. She stays well and her best form would take her close.

Willie Mullins is always respected and his Cheltenham Festival-winning hurdler Absurde will be on the premises. He was rusty on his Flat comeback at The Curragh earlier this month and can improve on that.

BEVERLEY

1.30

QUIETNESS is improving with every run and clocked a personal best when scoring easily over this trip at Thirsk last time out. That made it four victories and a close second from her five starts this season as she’s done nothing but improve since joining Marcus Tregoning. She’s up the weights again but has more to offer and likes decent ground.

Walter Hartright is another having a dream season and he won four on the spin before a solid second at Chepstow latest. He goes on any ground and looks the main danger.

If those two go off too quick in front, the door could be opened for Thundering who ran his best race for a long time when third on the all-weather at Newcastle latest. He likes to come from the back and lots of early pace would help.

2.05

COMMANCHE FALLS ran a mighty race when a close-up third in a red-hot handicap at York last Saturday. This is just the second time in his long career that he’s tackled five furlongs but Beverley’s uphill finish means it takes some getting. He likes quick ground and can go close.

Staincliff has looked a nice prospect in winning maidens at Newcastle and then Windsor last time where she was back from nine months off. She clocked a decent time and it’s interesting that trainer Jack Channon drops her straight into Listed level rather than going handicapping. She likes it quick and could be anything after just three runs.

Democracy Dilemma is another coming here after a near-miss at York’s Ebor meeting. He was collared near the line after making all and will take some pegging back again.

SANDOWN

1.50

LYNDON B crossed the line full of running when second over this trip at Newbury last time. He comes from behind and just didn’t get the breaks there. That could happen again but he’s clearly in great form and is more than capable of winning this if he gets the gaps.

Glenfinnan has dropped to 2lb above his last winning mark and the booking of Oisin Murphy takes the eye. He is definitely in the mix.

Feel The Need won a hot cotest at York in May and went close again there when last seen in June. He’s creeping up the weights and is another who likes to come late but his best form takes him close.

2.25

TAMFANA usually runs with great credit in Classics so should be far too good on this drop into a Group 3. She was beaten less than a length in the 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket before a similar result in the French Oaks before 1m4f stretched her stamina a little when fourth in the Grand Prix De Paris. Good ground suits and anything like her best form should be good enough.

Doha landed a big Royal Ascot handicap over this trip before a tight Listed second at Pontefract and fair effort in the Nassau at Glorious Goodwood. This drop in distance looks a wise move and she can hit the forecast spot.

Choisya always runs her race and had a bit in the tank when taking a Haydock Listed contest three weeks ago. She is best over this distance and has solid place claims for the Crisfords.

3.00

INVOLVEMENT ran a solid race in France last time on the back of a gutsy Newmarket win over this trip. That built on his solid effort over a mile in the Britannia at Royal Ascot. It’s still early days so he can improve with William Buick taking over in the saddle.

Balmacara had been going well over 7f but stepped up for a solid second over course and distance last month. The handicapper has been a little harsh with a 6lb rise but she’s another with more to offer.

Sean was a little unlucky to finish only third over this trip at Windsor latest when the door was slammed in his face a couple of times. He’s back from the same mark with an each-way chance.

3.35

FIELD OF GOLD clocked a scorching time when winning a Newmarket maiden by more than three lengths with a cigar on. This son of Kingman just cruised along and didn’t have to pass third gear in scoring for John Gosden who has a decent record in this race. He has some fancy entries later in the season and can show why today.

Matauri Bay went into plenty of notebooks when scoring on debut at Leicester. He missed the break and looked green before picking up sharply to win going away. There’s a lot more to come.

Royal Playwright showed good pace to strike on debut at Salisbury for Favourite columnist Andrew Balding and is another with a bright future.

Tiger Mask was held in the Vintage Stakes at Glorious Goodwood after an Ascot maiden win and likes this trip.
