Brazen war criminal Putin taunts West & avoids ARREST on visit to Mongolia despite calls to ‘hand him over’

TYRANT Vladimir Putin has taunted the West as he defied international threats to arrest him during his official state visit to Mongolia.

It marks Putin’s first trip to a member country of the International Criminal Court (ICC) since it issued a warrant for his arrest in March last year.

The brazen dictator has been accused of alleged war crimes in Ukraine – including the abduction of tens of thousands of children and sneaking them into Russia.

Putin reached Mongolia on Monday where he was given an honour guard as he was welcomed in the capital city’s main square.

He is now to attend a ceremony marking the 85th anniversary of the victory of Russian and Mongolian forces over Japan in World War Two.

However, there are no signs that Putin will be arrested inside the country that is bound to detain war criminals if a warrant is issued by the ICC.

The warrant demands the court’s 124 member states, including Mongolia, to arrest Putin and transfer him to The Hague for trial if he sets foot on their territory.

An ICC spokesperson said Mongolia has an “obligation” to follow rules set by the international court, but cleared it does not have any enforcement mechanism.

Another spokesperson added: “The ICC relies on its States Parties and other partners to execute its decisions with arrest warrants.

“In case of non-cooperation, ICC judges may make a finding to that effect and inform the Assembly of States Parties of it.

“It is then for the Assembly to take any measure it deems appropriate.”

Ahead of his visit, Ukraine called on Mongolia to hand Putin over to the international authorities, but the European Union (EU) expressed concerns that Mongolia might not execute the warrant.

Kyiv said: “[Our side] hopes that the Government of Mongolia is aware of the fact that Vladimir Putin is a war criminal.”

But Putin’s mouthpiece Dmitry Peskov shot back at suggestions of an arrest saying the Kremlin was not worried about the state visit.

He said: “No, no worries about this. We have a great dialogue with our friends from Mongolia.

“Obviously before the visit, all of the aspects of the visit have been thoroughly discussed.”

The ICC has accused Putin of being responsible for the abductions and “unlawful deportations” of children from Ukraine – a war crime under the Geneva Convention.

It said the alleged crimes were committed in Ukraine from 24 February 2022 – when Russia launched its full-scale invasion.

The court also issued a warrant for the arrest of Maria Lvova-Belova, Russia’s commissioner for children’s rights, for the same alleged crimes.

Putin has also been accused of the mistreatment of prisoners since the start of the gruelling war by the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).

The Sun previously showed horrifying pictures of Ukrainian prisoners of war looking malnourished after being held by Putin’s forces for months.

The Kremlin has dismissed these accusations and dubbed them “outrageous”, claiming they are politically motivated.

Speaking of the active arrest warrant against Putin, former Russian president Dimitry Medvedev said: “If I were the judges and prosecutors of this half-baked ‘court’, I would be most afraid that some madman would try to carry out their illegal order.

“In that case, their lives would be worth no more than this piece of s*** paper.”

An investigation by The Sun into Ukraine’s missing children back in September 2022 revealed that thousands of children had been deported during the Russia-Ukraine war.

Latest figures from Ukraine say 19,500 children have been deported or forcibly displaced, and only 388 have been returned.

Altantuya Batdorj, Executive Director of Amnesty International Mongolia, said: “President Putin is a fugitive from justice.

“Any trip to an ICC member state that does not end in arrest will encourage President Putin’s current course of action and must be seen as part of a strategic effort to undermine the ICC’s work to prosecute suspected war criminals.”

More than 50 Russians outside the country have signed an open letter urging the government of Mongolia to immediately detain Vladimir Putin upon his arrival.

This includes Vladimir Kara-Murza, who was freed from a Russian prison in August in the biggest East-West prisoner swap since the Cold War.

Putin has made a series of overseas trips in recent months to try to counter the international isolation he faces over the invasion of Ukraine.

He visited China in May, made a trip to North Korea and Vietnam in June and went to Kazhakstan in July for a meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

Last year, he was forced to join a meeting in Johannesburg by video link after the South African government lobbied against him showing up for the BRICS summit.

South Africa is an International Criminal Court member.

Regime leaders and key figures hauled before international courts

VLADIMIR Putin is not the first dictator to be accused of war crimes by international courts.

  • Slobodan Milosevic – former president of Serbia

The International Criminal Tribunal for Yugoslavia charged Milošević with genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes in Bosnia, Croatia and Kosovo.

He was the first sitting head of state to be charged with war crimes but died in custody before he was tried.

  • Ratko Mladic – former Serbian army commander

Mladic – dubbed the “Butcher of Bosnia” – was found guilty of genocide and jailed for life by the International Criminal Court for the former Yugoslavia in 2017.

He was blamed for the worst atrocities in Europe since World War II during the country’s 1990s conflict.

He faced 11 charges including genocide and crimes against humanity.

The UN court found him guilty on 10 counts including genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity, acquitting him of genocide in the municipalities.

  • Charles Taylor – former president of Liberia

Taylor was accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity as a result of his involvement in the Sierra Leone Civil War from 1991 – 2002.

On April 26, 2012, Taylor was found guilty on all 11 counts of bearing responsibility for the war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by rebel forces during the war.

He was sentenced to 50 years in prison.

My son has to miss his first week at school thanks to ‘selfish’ caravan holiday neighbours- I’m so mad I could scream

A WOMAN has been left fuming after her son was forced to miss his first ever week of secondary school due to their “bloody selfish” neighbours on a caravan holiday.

The woman said that she and her family had gone away last week for five nights, and her 11-year-old son ended up playing with some children from other families.

Her son is very upset that he will have to miss the first day of school[/caption]

However, taking to Mumsnet, the unnamed mother fumed that one of the boys he was playing with had chicken pox.

The mother of the sick boy said that she thought getting away would do the child good, however, the Mumsnet poster was left fuming, as her son had never had chicken pox himself.

Chicken pox is a very contagious infection that causes an itchy, spotty rash, and is most common within children.

You can get chicken pox just by being in the same room as someone who has it, and it is also spread by touching things that have fluid from the blisters on them.

It usually goes away on it’s own, but this takes around one to two weeks.

Once you have had chicken pox, you are usually immune for life, although it is possible to catch it a second time.

Today, the woman’s son was due to start year seven, but he woke up yesterday covered in spots, meaning that he had caught chicken pox off the boy at the caravan site, and would have to miss the first week of school.

“He is now crying and saying he won’t make any friends now and he won’t know his way around and no amount of comforting will calm him down”, she said.

“Very few kids from his primary school are going to this high school and he is so upset he will have missed out on making friends.

“We have been in touch with his form tutor who has been great and has said they will support him and catch him up but I could bloody scream.

“How can some people be so bloody selfish.”

The woman’s post, was flooded with comments from Mumsnet users, and opinions were divided.

Some agreed with the mum that it was selfish for her caravan neighbour to have let their ill child play with the other kids.

One person said: “That’s rubbish. People are selfish. I hope your son is better soon. He’ll be okay at school…”

How to treat chicken pox at home?

Chickenpox is a common illness among children, characterized by an itchy rash and flu-like symptoms.

While it usually resolves on its own, there are several ways to manage the symptoms at home effectively.

Dr. Zoe Williams, a General Practitioner, shares essential tips for treating chickenpox.

She emphasizes the importance of keeping the skin cool to reduce itching and avoiding scratching to prevent infection and scarring.

Calamine lotion and antihistamines can help soothe the itch, and paracetamol can be used to manage fever, but ibuprofen should be avoided as it can lead to severe skin reactions.

Hydration is crucial, and giving children plenty of fluids can help. Additionally, oatmeal baths and loose clothing can provide comfort. Dr. Williams warns against exposing children to the sun, as it can exacerbate symptoms and cause complications.

By following these guidelines, parents can help their children manage chickenpox symptoms more comfortably and reduce the risk of complications.

Another person said: “Oh, that is bad. I’m so sorry for your son. Some people have no idea.

“I had to tell someone who is normally very sensible not to bring their baby with chicken pox to a church service recently. I just can’t understand the logic…”

A third person said: “God that’s awful. Why on earth did they let their kid out!”

However, others suggested that the mum should have got her son the chickenpox vaccine, which costs around £200 on the NHS.

One person said: “Well it’s a risk isn’t it – should have got the vaccine.”

Another person said: “Yes it’s selfish of them but you also could have had him vaccinated.”

Subtle ways Kate Middleton is getting Prince George ready to be King – from key confidence trick to football shirt ban

HE may just be 11 years old, but Prince George is already being prepared in subtle ways for being king, according to a royal expert.

Like thousands of British children, the young royal is heading into Year 7 this week, but unlike his classmates he has a unique destiny lying around for him later in life.

One of the ways George is being prepared is by meeting all walks of life[/caption]

Royal author Phil Dampier told Fabulous: “Most of the time he is enjoying the life of someone from the upper middle classes, and spends a lot of time with Kate’s family, the Middletons.

“However he is growing up fast and William and Kate are slowly preparing him for his role.”

Here are six ways George’s future is being carefully crafted…

1. Exposed to big events

Prince George has been seen at a number of high-profile events this year, and this is likely part of the Prince and Princess of Wales’ plan, according to Phil.

The royal expert shared: “He is attending royal events such as Trooping the Colour, the Coronation and big set events and he is slowly being introduced to those.”

Body language expert Judi James shared how the experiences are helping to boost Prince George’s confidence.

She claimed: “Thanks to William’s careful, hands-on induction of his eldest son, George has slowly evolved from a rather shy-looking small boy into a more confident, responsible and happily still joyful-looking eleven-year-old.”

2. Wearing suits

Prince George has also been seen at a number of sporting events this year – including the Euros Final – and instead of wearing a football shirt, he has been seen in a suit.

Phil added: “He has sometimes looked a bit stiff and formal in a suit and tie.

“But I thought in the recent photo to mark his 11th birthday he looked a lot more relaxed, a lot more comfortable and he’s clearly maturing rapidly.”

The decision to wear suits could have come from Princess Kate, according to tennis champion Marion Bartoli who met the royal at Wimbledon.

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, she said: “Yesterday I had an afternoon tea with the duchess and it was very much a discussion whether George will be allowed to wear the jersey tonight at Wembley or not.

“William was for it, Kate not so keen, so we’ll see.”

3. Slowly upping the ante

When he was at Eton, William was able to spend valuable time having tea with the late Queen at Windsor Castle and learn so much from her.

They met frequently and just the two of them would be in the room, with William gaining from her vast experience.

Phil shared: “George will probably follow in his father’s footsteps and go to Eton, and of course he will receive a first class education there.

“George will be able to see King Charles, but I doubt he will have similar sessions, so George won’t benefit like that.

“It’s very much going to be up to his parents and William and Kate will now be slowly upping the ante.

“William is of course the Prince of Wales, responsible for running the Duchy of Cornwall, and he will be showing George the ropes in terms of how that is run.

“He will also privately be taught about the history of the royal family and its role in society.

“He will also slowly be introduced to the workings of state, visiting courts, Parliament and other important institutions.”

4. Meeting ‘all walks of life’

When Prince George is not attending the £7,000-a-term swanky Lambrook School, he has been seen with aristocratic pal Ralph Tollemache, whose lavish family home Helmingham Hall even rivals his own.

However, Prince William and Princess Kate are keen for their eldest child to meet people from all backgrounds.

Phil added: “William has taken George to social events like football and mum Kate has taken him to Wimbledon, and as well as enjoying the sport it’s good for him to meet people from all walks of life and gain confidence.”

5. Not preparing him

Prince George is being given greater freedom as a future heir, in contrast to what faced Charles as he was growing up.

Phil claimed: “King Charles has spoken in the past of the dreadful moment when as a child it finally dawned on him that he was going to be King and that his whole future was mapped out for him, and it came as a great shock.

“One of the ways in which William and Kate have prepared George for being King is NOT to prepare him.

“They were adamant that they wanted him and Charlotte and Louis to have as normal an upbringing as possible and not to be burdened by his future destiny.

“A committee of politicians, courtiers and advisers decided what schools Charles should go to, what service he should do in the armed forces and where he should visit in the Commonwealth, including time at a college in Australia.

“None of that will happen for George.”

6. Given choices

Phil predicts that William and Kate won’t force George into the armed forces when he is older, and claims they “hope he goes to University.”

He added: “But by the time he is that age George will be making his own decisions and I’m sure they will encourage him to do so.

“Their attitude is very much give him the tools to decide his own direction, not force him into things he doesn’t want to do so that he’s weighed down with responsibility.

“They will need to strike a balance between him not being overwhelmed but also accepting his fate.

“The next few years will be important ones but George looks like he’s got firm foundations to build on.”

Kate Middleton's 'golden rule' with George, Charlotte and Louis

KATE'S key rule for Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis is about kindness.

According to HELLO! Online’s Royal Correspondent: “Based on observations of photographs of Princess Diana at the time, and the current Princess of Wales, they are both very affectionate with their children.

“Kate is often seen holding her children’s hands or picking them up for cuddles when they were smaller.

“There are often lots of comforting gestures, such as a pat on the back or stroking their hair. When interacting with other children on her public engagements, Kate often crouches down to their level to engage with them – something that Diana would often do.”

When she’s at the family’s home of Adelaide Cottage in Windsor, despite her royal status, insiders say Kate is just like any other “normal mum”.

A friend explained that behind closed doors, the 42-year-old is “very chilled at home” but definitely not a pushover and will tell the kids off when needed.

They told PEOPLE: “It’s a normal, busy family home with kids running around and knocking things over. There’s no airs and graces.

“She is doing that to help her children be more grounded and keep their reality in check. That’s what really matters to her.”
