BRIT’S biggest supermarket packaging gripe is ‘easy peel’ corners – that are impossible to open.

A poll of 2,000 adults found fruit and veg in excessive plastic, non-recyclable packaging and ring pulls coming off in your hand are the other top annoyances.

Some 30% can’t stand when fruit or vegetables are packaged in loads of plastics, with 25% admitting to not buying a product because it’s wrapped in so much of it.

Meanwhile 28% are peeved by products that aren’t recyclable.

A spokesperson from DS Smith, which commissioned the research, said: “Packaging is there to look after what’s inside – no-one wants to be left thwarted, unable to get at it.

“And clearly some of the wider gripes crop up when it feels like there is excessive plastic in play, and if packaging doesn’t appear to be readily recyclable.

“Those are all things that can be remedied – waste can be designed out from the start, and paper-based materials can often be much more readily recyclable.”

Products being packaged in unnecessary layers, when you have to open a packet with scissors, and when packaging makes the product look bigger than it is, were other peeves that made the top 10.

These frustrations leave 44% less likely to or never likely to buy it again.

One in five (21%) have come across unclear recycling messaging on packaging – and respondents said if they did, a third would put it in the general waste.

While 32% would simply guess and shove it in the recycling bin.

Almost a quarter were irritated most by excessive plastics – with two such annoyances encountered every week.

When it comes to buying fruit, 17% are open to using paper bags – and only five per cent were comfortable with plastic punnets.

And 38% were concerned with the amount of plastic in packaging when thinking about what to buy in the supermarket, which emerged as a more important factor than the origin of a product or how recyclable it is.

Half feel guilty if something is packaged excessively in any plastics, according to the OnePoll data.

But 24% were willing to pay up to 33p more for an item if it were packaged in a more ‘eco-friendly’ way, and 22% believe that recycling instructions on supermarket packaging is unclear.

A spokesperson from DS Smith added: “A lot has changed in the last few years and there is a lot less plastic in supermarkets these days.

“We have removed more than a billion pieces of plastic from supermarket shelves and supply chains in the last four years, and evidently there is still plenty of opportunity for brands to keep finding ways to reduce and replace plastic.”

Who is Hadden Clark?

Hadden Clark is a serial killer who is currently in jail for murder.

He was born on July 31, 1952, in Troy, New York.

Clark had a troubled childhood where his parents would often fight with each other in front of their four children.

He claims he was mentally abused by them – with his mother making him wear dresses and calling him Kristen.

Clark trained as a chef and served in the United States Navy.

He was later discharged after being diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia.

What was Hadden Clark convicted of?

Clark was convicted of murder after being linked with the death of a woman in Maryland.

When he was sent to jail, he was put in a cell with Jack Truitt, a long-haired, bearded cellmate he believed was Jesus.

Because he thought this, he would confess his sins to him.

Clark told Truitt that he’d killed somebody else a few years before the murder he’d been imprisoned for.

This led to investigators reopening the case and convicting Clark after originally pursuing another suspect.

Who did Hadden Clark kill?

Clark’s first victim was six-year-old Michelle Dorr – a friend of his niece.

In 1986, he slashed her throat with a knife before carrying out a horrendous sexual assault on her.

He also ate some of her flesh before burying her body.

Six years later, Clark murdered 23-year-old Laura Houghteling.

She was the daughter of Penny, who Clark was working for as a gardener at the time.

After being accused by Penny of stealing tools from the garden shed, Clark went into the house and stabbed Laura to death.

He reportedly did this whilst wearing a wig and women’s clothes, and would later claim that the killer was his alter-ego, Kristin Bluefin.

Since his conviction, Clark has said that “Kristin” was responsible for murdering dozens of other people.

Police had some doubts over his claims due to his paranoid schizophrenia.

The bodies of the people Clark claimed he murdered were never found, however he directed investigators to a bucket of jewelry which contained – amongst many other items – some owned by Houghteling.

Clark reportedly said he claimed the items as trophies.

How long is Hadden Clark serving in prison?

Hadden Clark is serving two 30-year sentences in prison for murder.

He’s also serving an additional ten years for robbery, after stealing from a former landlord.

They’re being spent at the Eastern Correctional Institution in Maryland, after his conviction in 1993.

The combined sentence of 70 years means Clark is likely to serve the rest of his life behind bars.

Michael Bay thinks the series could “potentially open the door to solving many cold case murders”.

The car giant is working with Thailand real estate developer Ananda Development on the impressive project with hopes of creating a new landmark in the city.

It will be a 21-storey tower of duplex and quaduplex apartments, which range from 525 to 1,135 square metres.

The block includes areas dubbed Passion Spaces which are luxury garages designed to house car collections.

There is also a spiral car ramp in the building called The Loop, which takes drivers straight to the impressive garages.

Porsche has previously built similar successful blocks in Miami, the US and Stuttgard, Germany.

Construction is set to start next year and is expected to finish by the end of 2028.

The exterior design of the building is inspired by a Porsche 911 Targa and has a roof terrace.

While the entrance is inspired by a Porsche Mission R – with an X-shaped frame.

A glowing red light borders the roof, similar to the feature on Porsche’s iconic sports cars.

Residents will be able to use a luxury 25-metre swimming pool, gym, spa, social lounge and business lounge.

Impressive pictures show the towering glass and metal building with its striking red line along the roof.

Huge balconies wrap around the edge of the building with the classic X-frame along its base.

Interior pictures show the flash interior with a spiral ramp climbing up the inside of the tower block.

A classic Porsche collection can be seen inside one of the luxury Passion Space garages.

One photograph shows the ramp from below as it stretches all the way up to the centre of the 21-storey building.
