‘He’s unrecognisable!’ say stunned Emmerdale viewers as character finally returns after months off screen

EMMERDALE viewers were in for a surprise on Thursday night when a familiar face made an unexpected comeback.

Arthur Thomas (Alfie Clarke) has returned to the village after several months away, leaving fans stunned by his dramatically different appearance.

The teen, who had been traveling in Australia, came back to discover there had been upheaval in Emmerdale during his absence.

Arthur missed out on the explosive fallout between his mother Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) and her estranged husband Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson).

The couple is currently going through a divorce just months after getting married, due to Jai’s controversial actions involving his biological father Amit (Anil Goutam) and his half-brother Suni Sharma (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana).

Arthur’s last on screen appearance was back in March, around the time his close friend Heath Hope (Sebastian Dowling) tragically died in a car accident.

Upon his return to the Thomas household in Mulberry, Arthur awkwardly interrupted an intimate moment between Gabby Thomas and Vinny Dingle, who are now a couple.

And the drama didn’t stop there.

Arthur went on to catch wind of the ongoing tension between his mum and Jai.

After becoming concerned about his mum’s wellbeing when she nearly fainted in front of him, he confronted her ex husband, expressing his frustration over the stress Laurel has been under since the divorce proceedings began.

Even though his mum reassured Arthur that she is just in the process of recovering from her heart attack, he made it clear that he blames Jai for the strain on her health.

Although Arthur immediately got involved in a couple of big storylines, viewers were much more taken aback by his appearance than what he had to say to Jai.

Fans of the ITV soap flocked to social media to comment on how drastically the teen has changed from when he was last on the show.

One person wrote: “Arthur is ten years older than when he left.”

Another questioned: “Is this a new Arthur, or is it just the fringe?”

A third joked: “Arthur’s returned from his holibobs and suddenly thinks he’s a hardman. Love it.”

‘I had to go’ shoppers say as they race to B&M to pick up a £3 dupe of £3.1k designer ornament

SHOPPERS are racing to B&M to pick up a dupe of a £3,000 designer ornament, for just £3.

B&M is one of Britain’s best loved retailers, and is constantly wowing shoppers with it’s affordable products.

Bearbrick’s retail at £3,162[/caption]

And one item which has caught the eye of bargain fans recently, is a product similar to Bearbrick ornaments, which retail at £3,162.

Sharing her find via a TikTok video,  Ellie (@fenloninteriors_) said: “B&M have launched Bearbrick and Balloon Dog [alternative] ornaments.”

Showing off the small silver bear shaped ornaments in her local B&M store, she said: “”Rumour on the street, B&M have started selling Bearbricks.

“So of course, I had to go and see for myself. And honestly, I just stepped into the home décor aisle and I found him.”

Bearbrick figures were created in 2001 by Japanese Toy Label Medicom, and have become highly sought after and exclusive items.

Reviewing the product, Ellie revealed that she thought that the £3 price tag was great, even if the products are small.

“I mean, they are only like the size of your hands, so they are tiny, but I think they’re a cute styling piece.”

Ellie then revealed that B&M is also selling a copy of Jeff Koons’ Balloon Dog sculptures.

In 2013, Koons’ Balloon Dog (orange) sold for £44,million, and is the fourth most expensive piece of artwork to sell by a living artist at auction.

Ellie added that she hopes the retailer brings the dupes out in more colours, as she is a huge fan of the products.

The video, has likely left many impressed, as it has racked up over 90,000 views on the video sharing platform.

TikTok users raced to the video’s comments section to share their thoughts.

One person said: “I’ve got the two of them!”

How to save money at B&M

Shoppers have saved hundreds of pounds a year by using B&M's scanner app.

The scanner lets you see if an item’s price is cheaper than advertised on the shop floor label.

Products that are typically discounted are seasonal items and old stock that B&M is trying to shift.

The app is free to download off the B&M Stores mobile app via Google Play or the Apple App Store.

According to one ex-B&M manager, you’ll want to visit your local branch at 10am on a Wednesday too.

Here’s how you can join the B&M bargain hunt:

  • Download the B&M app for free on any smartphone with an App Store or Google Play.
  • Once you’ve installed it on your device, click on the option labelled “more” on the bottom, right-hand side of the app home page.
  • You’ll then find an option that says “barcode scanner”. Click on this and you’ll open a camera screen.
  • Use the camera to hover over the barcode of the product you wish to check.
  • If the price comes up as lower, take it to the cash desk and it will automatically scan at the lower price.
  • You don’t need to sign up to the B&M app to use the barcode scanner.

Another person said: “I’ve seen them in my local store, they’re both so cute.”

A third person said: “I’ve found another obsession, they are amazing.”

A fourth person added: “SHEIN also sell them!

“The colours are amazing.”

Marvel’s upcoming release combines chaotic action with lore only hardcore fans know

AT Gamescom, you can hear the trailer for Marvel Rivals blasting out of the speaker with Captain America shouting “Snap out of it, Bucky!” every few minutes.

It is a bewildering layer of white noise, and the repetition of the looping trailer perfectly encapsulates how I feel about Marvel Rivals.

Characters are well thought out but not balanced for the fast pace of the game[/caption]

Marvel Rivals is NetEase’s take on the hero shooter, with 3v3 team-based battles.

The unique selling point is that you can choose to play as one of 25 popular Marvel heroes or villains, each with their own outrageously powerful abilities.

When there are six S-tier characters on the map, all casting spells and shouting catchphrases simultaneously, it is absolute chaos.

There is some story here, but Marvel Rivals focuses on the combat, which both goes at a breakneck pace and includes screen-obscuring special abilities.

You can easily be winding up an attack only to be hit by a burst of red, and die before you even know what hit you.

PvP shooters require a lot of practice to master, and we had such a short time with the game it’s hard to tell if we would understand what is happening better if we had a bit more experience.

In this first taste though, the map feels too small, and the attack animations are too big and powerful.

There are 25 characters with around seven skills each, meaning that’s about 175 moves you have to master.

This is definitely possible, but it will have a longer teething process than games like Valorant or Apex Legends.

Each character has a unique look with distinctive silhouettes and colour schemes, meaning that they are instantly recognisable, and they all feel very different to play.

This is definitely a feat worthy of praise when there are so many characters, and there are some surprising additions that you rarely see outside of the comics.

You rarely see Jeff the Land Shark, Peni Parker or Luna Snow in the mainstream but they all make an appearance here.

It’s clear that the team has put a lot of time into the characters, who to include and how they should control.

However, in keeping abilities realistic to the comics, it means that they are too difficult to comprehend particularly with the fast pace of gameplay.

For example, team-up moves incentivise players to choose characters that are related to each other like Hela, Thor, and Loki but make things more complex when it comes to team composition.

Marvel Rivals is flashy fun, with a vast roster combining familiar and cult characters from the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, X-Men, and more.

However, it’s let down by its inaccessibility, though it will likely see improvements before it is released in December.
