16 mins agoNews TalkComments Off on Why Prince Harry might NOT have inherited £8m on his 40th birthday – and where the money may have gone
PRINCE Harry turned 40 last week and some reports said he would be receiving a staggering £8million on the milestone occasion.
The large sum of cash was thought to be coming from the late Queen Mother, who had included him in a Trust Fund created in 1994.
Prince Harry was reportedly set to receive a whopping £8million on his 40th birthday on September 15[/caption]
The Queen Mother was said to have set up a Trust Fund for her great-grandchildren to receive later in their lives[/caption]
The Queen Mother was said to be worth around £70million when she set up a trust for William and Harry[/caption]
However, royal experts have now questioned if the Duke of Sussex received the eye-watering sum this month.
The Guardian claimed in April 2002 that both Prince William and Prince Harry would take home the £8million upon reaching their 40th birthdays.
They wrote: “In 1994 the Queen Mother placed two-thirds of her money fortune – an estimated £19m – into a trust fund for her great grandchildren, a gamble, at the age of 94, that she would live for another seven years and so avoid paying 40 per cent. That hurdle was cleared last year.”
According to the Gov website: “If you die within seven years of making a transfer into a trust your estate will have to pay Inheritance Tax at the full amount of 40 per cent.
“This is instead of the reduced amount of 20 per cent which is payable when the payment is made during your lifetime.”
It was estimated that the Queen Mother’s net worth was around £70million at the time.
The BBC added at the time that the money has largely come from “shrewd investments which include paintings, a valuable Faberge egg collection, china and jewellery, though most of this will be passed to the Queen as it is part of the royal collection.”
The Guardian claimed: “Of the trust fund, William and Harry are likely to share about £6m at the age of 21 – the bulk going to the younger son apparently to compensate for not becoming sovereign – and a further £8m when they reach 40.
“Princess Anne’s children Zara and Peter Phillips and Prince Andrew‘s daughters Beatrice and Eugenie, together with Princess Margaret‘s children, Viscount Linley and Lady Sarah Chatto, will also receive bequests running into several millions each.”
In their latest episode of Hello! Magazine A Right Royal Podcast, royal experts shared their confusion over the pot of money.
Broadcaster Victoria Murphy said: “The only solid information that exists is the information in that story.
“There’s no independently available information about this trust fund.
“We wouldn’t expect there to be because it’s private money belonging to the royals, not public money.
“To make things even more confusing, as the story has travelled through the Internet, it’s become he is getting £8million, when the original story said that was a share.”
Other great-grandchildren such as Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie were also accounted for[/caption]
Prince William is also said to have received money from the late Queen Mother’s Trust Fund, according to the Guardian[/caption]
Funding himself
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are now supporting themselves financially after stepping down as senior royals in 2020.
Although he did not reveal the sum during the chat, it is understood Harry was left about £6.5million ($9million) when his mother died 23 years ago.
This increased to around £10million ($13.9million) on his 30th birthday after the original amount was invested and gathered interest.
Prince Harry has also earned money through his tell-all Spare memoir, the now-defunct £18million Spotify deal he signed with Meghan, and also their £75m Netflix deal.

Perfect timing for Prince Harry's £8million cash
IF Prince Harry did receive the cash, royal expert Hugo Vickers said the timing couldn't be better for the Sussexes.
Vickers told The Sun: “No doubt it would be helpful because I think he leads a very expensive lifestyle.
“Hopefully he will put the money to good use. £8million can disappear pretty fast in a place like Montecito.
“The couple have an enormous staff, a big house to maintain, and cars.
“Harry has to pay for his own security too which we know he takes very seriously.”
He then left his wife and kids to go on a “weekend getaway” with a few close friends, sources told The Sun.
It is not yet known where Harry went or who joined him on his lads’ holiday.
But the group is unlikely to include his brother William – as he and Harry have not spoken for more than two years.
It was reported that the band of brothers could have included Harry’s polo BFF Nacho Figueras, his “second dad” Mark Dyer and “party animal” pal Tom ‘Skippy’ Inskip.
A timeline of Prince Harry's family feud
The first hints of friction reportedly came after William was introduced to Meghan when she was staying at Kensington Palace.
Once she’d returned home to Canada, William and Harry sat down for a brother-to-brother chat.
He knew Harry was already head-over-heels for her but it has been claimed he advised him to take it slowly.
The younger prince reportedly didn’t take too kindly to the advice, with one royal source saying he “went mental”.
The Royal Foundation will be divided between the Sussexes and Cambridges as the couples focus on their own separate charitable endeavours.
Prince William and Prince Harry first established the Royal Foundation in 2009 before Kate joined two years later shortly after their engagement was announced.
The trio would often appear together at events and the Foundation had huge successes with projects like the Invictus Games for injured veterans and the mental health Heads Together campaign.
The Royal Foundation said the decision was made following the conclusion of a review into its structure – but added both couples will continue to work together in the future.
Harry and Meg were living in close proximity to Kate and Wills within the Kensington Palace estate, but they switched to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor before baby Archie was born.
The move further increased rumours of a fallout.
Harry also hinted in his ITV documentary “Harry and Meghan, An African Journey” that he and his brother had grown apart.
In 2021, Harry and Meghan give their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey where Harry accused his dad of cutting him off financially.
Harry then jetted back to UK to join William in unveiling a statue to their mother Princess Diana in the grounds of Kensington Palace. But sources claimed William didn’t want to attend the memorial amid their ongoing rift.
In Spare, Harry said William branded Meghan “rude” and “difficult” during a row.
Harry alleged William “grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and … knocked me to the floor”.
He said he was left with a visible injury to his back following the argument in 2019 at Nottingham Cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace, where he was living at the time.
Those who can catch it live have a choice between watching on YouTube, or checking out the PlayStation Twitch channel.
What people most want to know is which games will be shown at the event, and PlayStation hasn’t revealed any specifics.
However, there are rumours that Horizon Zero Dawn and Days Gone remasters are in the works, and PlayStation could take the opportunity to show them off on the PS5 Pro.
We also expect new footage from a few games we already know about like Monster Hunter Wilds, and the soon-to-be-released Until Dawn.
As Death Stranding 2 will get a 90-minute showcase at Tokyo Game Show, there’s a high likelihood it shows up during the State of Play too.
There are also rumours that Resident Evil 9 will be announced, but Capcom already has another big-name game in development, so we think this is less likely.
We already know that Astro Bot has free DLC coming before the end of the year, so the State of Play could give us more details.
With more than 20 games for the PS5 and PS VR2, there’s more than enough time for a few surprise announcements.

9-1-1: LONE Star fans are begging Netflix to save the long-running procedural drama after it was cancelled by Fox earlier this month.
The drama, which is available to stream on Disney+ for viewers in the U.K., will end with its upcoming fifth series.

The series is set to end with its upcoming fifth season[/caption]
However, it’s predecessor9-1-1 was saved in a shock move and fans are hoping this will happen once more[/caption]
9-1-1: Lone Star is a spin-off of 9-1-1, which ran for six series on Fox until it was cancelled but it was saved by ABC in 2023 and its eighth series is now underway.
Its shock cancellation comes as Fox moves away from scripted dramas with the final episodes of 9-1-1: Lone Star set to air weekly from yesterday (September 25) until early 2025.
However, fans are desperately hoping that series 5 will not be the show’s last.
To protest Lone Star’s axing, fans have started a petition online, which currently has over 3,000 signatures. Some fans also hope ABC will scoop up the series as it did for 9-1-1.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one fan begged: “ABC we are BEGGING you, to make up for cancelling Station19… Please save 9-1-1: Lone Star like you saved 9-1-1!!”
While another pleaded: “C’mon guys, u already saved 9-1-1 now you need to save 9-1-1: Lone Star, it’s a wonderfully great show that doesn’t need to end. You saved one, now save the other.”
However, this option has all but been ruled out by outlets like Deadline, who first reported Lone Star’s cancellation, leaving fans to direct their pleas to other streaming services like Netflix, who could provide a lifeline for the drama.
Pleading with the streamer, one fan wrote: “Netflix you saved Manifest please save 9-1-1: Lone Star!!!!!!!”
“Hey Netflix, bring on 9-1-1: Lone Star season 6,” added another.
While the fate of Lone Star currently hangs in the balance, its return may be possible, as Netflix has a history of rescuing and reviving cancelled shows like Lucifer, Manifest and You.
But for the moment, all viewers can count on is that series 5 will be a dramatic one.
After announcing the cancellation, Fox TV Network President Michael Thorn teased: “Now in our final season of the show, we’re set to give it the high-stakes send-off it deserves, complete with breathless rescues, insurmountable odds and relatable personal struggles, thanks to our incomparable, stellar cast led by Rob Lowe and Gina Torres.”
Rob stars as Captain Owen Strand, a New York firefighter who, along with his adult son, T.K. (Ronen Rubinstein), relocates to Austin to rebuild a firehouse which experienced a tragedy of their own.
Strand’s new team includes Captain Tommy Vega (Gina Torres), Judd Ryder (Jim Parrack), Marjan Marwani (Natacha Karam), Paul Strickland (Brian Michael Smith), and rookie firefighter Mateo Chavez (Julian Works). Rafael Silva and Brianna Baker also star.

In the upcoming fifth season, Captains Strand and Vega, along with the 126 team, race into action when in a multi-episodic opening storyline, a catastrophic train derailment endangers several lives including some of their own.
9-1-1: Lone Star is created and executive produced by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear.
Bradley Buecker, who directed the series premiere, also is an executive producer alongside Rashad Raisani, John J. Gray, Angela Bassett, Lowe, Carly Soteras and Wolfe Coleman.
During an interview with TVLine Rashad Raisani said he “knew it would be an uphill battle to get anything past Season 5 and that there was a good chance this could be it.”
“We give a beautiful send-off to each and every one of these characters, but we also leave the door open on stories, so it feels like there’s actually still more stuff to deeply explore,” Raisani added, fuelling hope that Lone Star may return one way or another.

16 mins agoNews TalkComments Off on ‘They will be feeling it’ – Stephen Bradley turns up the heat on League of Ireland rivals Shelbourne and Derry City
SHAMROCK ROVERS boss Stephen Bradley insisted that Shelbourne and Derry City must be feeling pressure – and his Hoops will keep breathing down their necks.
He said: “The hardest part of winning any title is the final bit. It’s always the hardest part and we know that through the years.
“Derry and Shels ahead of us, I’ve no doubt they will be feeling that. That’s natural. We felt it.
“Everyone feels it when you’re ahead as the hardest part is the last bit and getting over that final hurdle.
“We’ll just keep doing what we’re doing and keep picking up wins. We should be further along than we are right now, considering Friday.
“But we’ll keep picking up wins and see how both of them do.”
The Hoops still need a lot of favours if they are to win a record-breaking fifth title in a row with games running out.
They can still get a maximum of 64 points which would be their lowest points per game total since 2018 – when they finished third.
Indeed, that points per game figure would last have been enough for a title win in 1993.
But Rovers have hit form for the run-in with ten points from their last 12 with last night’s win earned through patience as Bohemians packed their defence.
Bradley added: “There’s a few fans behind where I stand in the dugout who just need to be calm and understand that teams come and frustrate you, which they did.
“But just be calm because we know what works – it mightn’t happen in the first minute, it might take the 91st and some weeks it won’t be enough.
“But we don’t change. It doesn’t mean you don’t try other things, but we don’t change what we do and I thought the players did that really well, they were calm.
“We spoke about it at half-time, that if we’re nice and calm we’ll get our rewards and just slow the game down.
“I don’t mean that in a way ….get more control of the game, rather than it being a basketball game because they are very good at that with Devoy, Grant and Rooney, Tierney.
“That’s where they are strong and you have to take that away from them and we did that really well.
“We could be 3-0 up and then there is nobody talking. It’s just about, right, relax and trust what we do.
“Derry did the same to Pico (Lopes, left the centre back with the ball but gave him no easy pass forward) on Friday and we score off the back of it.
“It’s just about being calm and you have to take that as a mark of respect, in how the teams are setting up. The players have earned that through the years.
“But don’t let their game plan become a frustration for us, that was really important and we did that really well tonight and that showed in the experience of the group, that we have learned that through the years.”
