A MUM has revealed her heartache after her daughter “begged” to go to town instead of meeting police about her stalker on the day he killed her.
Her mum Micala Trussler had grown so concerned by his unwanted advances that she had alerted her daughter’s school.
After the boy, who has been convicted of murder, showed up uninvited at their home in Haltwhistle, she arranged a meeting with police.
But Holly “begged” her mum to let her go into town after school on the day of her murder rather than come home to see the police for the 4pm chat.
It was rescheduled for later that evening but tragically Holly was stabbed to death by the teen stalker after he followed her from school.
Micala told the BBC: “In the end, the biggest mistake of my life.”
Holly had sent a friend a chilling message about her killer just hours before he ambushed her on January 27 last year.
She wrote: “Apparently (the boy) is gonna meet to me outside of school.
“So he’s basically stalking me at this point.
“He’s gonna follow me until I talk to him”.
After leaving school, Holly went shopping with her friends – unaware the teen was following her.
He tailed her for around 45 minutes making sure he was “careful not to be seen”.
Haunting footage showed the teen staring at Holly as she entered a pizza restaurant with a friend in Hexham, Northumberland
He was then captured chatting to the schoolgirl at a bus stop after she caved and agreed to speak to him.
But just seconds later, he lured her down an alleyway and stabbed her “many, many times”.
Staff at the pizza restaurant heard Holly screaming and rushed out to find him attacking her with a kitchen knife he brought from home.
They managed to “forcibly” remove the teen, who claimed Holly had been “horrible” or “awful” to him.
He then added: “Oh what have I done?”
Holly was taken to hospital after suffering 36 injuries – including 12 stab wounds and 19 slash injuries – in less than a minute.
Tragically she couldn’t be saved and was declared dead shortly after the horror.
When he was arrested, the boy – now aged 17 – told police: “I was meant to kill myself but it went too far.”
The boy previously admitted manslaughter – claiming his mind “went blank” during the attack – but was found guilty of murder.
He was also convicted of wounding with intent after one of Holly’s male friends was injured while trying to help her.
Following the verdict, Micala described how her “beautiful child” loved her family, sport, animals and dancing.
The teen was remanded into custody to be sentenced on October 31.
Holly's devastated mum pays tribute
Micala said: “Holly was a beautiful child. As my first born she was a clingy child and never left my side, we did everything together. She grew into a funny and happy teenager who would do anything for anyone.
“Looking back at the funny times with Holly makes me smile, she used to call an elbow an elly-bow and one minute would be an avid vegetarian then the next minute tucking into a McDonald’s burger laughing.
“There was nothing that Holly couldn’t do, she loved all types of sport and would give anything a go at least once. From a young age she fell in love with dancing, it gave her the opportunity to express herself and helped her self confidence enormously, it genuinely made her feel fearless.
“Holly’s favourite place in the world was Alton Towers, she loved to go on the biggest rollercoasters and thrived on the adrenaline rush and overcoming her fears while the rest of us were terrified which she thought was hilarious.
“At school Holly was a quiet student who just go on with her work, there was never a bad report from her teachers. When Holly started at the Queen Elizabeth High School in Hexham, she felt like she belonged, she had such a small tight knit group of friends who were always there for each other.
“Holly was passionate about her family; she hated upsetting people and would do anything to make people smile. She loved animals, her cat Maxi every morning would go to her bedroom door and meow until Holly got up to let him onto her bed, to this day Maxi still does this however Holly isn’t there to open the door.”

Oscar Fairs, 14, has been a goalkeeper at West Ham since the age of nine but was diagnosed with ependymoma brain tumour in August 2023.
The young boy has since undergone over seven surgeries to remove the cancerous lump.
Rising Ballers confirmed Fairs is a season-ticket holder at West Ham who has ambitions of being the No1 shotstopper for his country.
Fairs has undergone seven surgeries, one round of chemotherapy and one round of radiotherapy but was told that Palliative care was the only option.
His family have found a treatment called medulloblastoma European multitarget metronomic antiangiogenic trial (MEMMATT) which is not available in the UK.
The nearest city which provides the treatment is a facility in Lille, France called The Oscar Lembert Center.
The cost of the whole MEMMAT treatment, plus the partial living cost to support our son in France is £100,000!
Over £77,500 has been raised so far, with an intended target of £100,000.
And £5,000 of that has been donated by Rice with £10,000 donated by club Chairman David Sullivan.
Just eight months before his diagnosis, his family were told his symptoms were mental-health related, and he was referred to Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).

IN the 90s he donned the famous red swimshorts as a hunky lifeguard on Baywatch Hawaii.
Now, 23 years later, Michael Bergin, 55, has a very different look after turning his back on fame.
Baywatch’s Michael Bergin is now a successful estate agent[/caption]
The former actor, who played Jack ‘JD’ Darius in the beach drama, cut a smart figure as he attended the premiere of ABC’s After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun docuseries, which catches up with some of the franchise’s best-loved names.
Michael, who is now a successful estate agent in Beverly Hills, starred alongside David Hasselhoff and Carmen Electra in Baywatch‘s mid-90s heyday, before appearing in 88 episodes of spin-off Baywatch: Hawaii.
He also reprised the tole of JD in the TV movie Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding in 2003.
Before finding fame on the box, Michael established himself as a top model working with the likes of Valentino, Armani and Yves Saint Laurent.
He even took over as a Calvin Klein model from none other than Mark Wahlberg.
It wasn’t a career he ever envisioned doing – but the lure of earning up to $1,000 a day inspired him to give it a go.
He once told Apollo magazine: “As I was growing up I never thought about being a male model.
“I had no idea there was an occupation called ‘male modelling’. I seriously thought the male models were family members of those working for the magazines or commercials. Okay, I was a little naive.”
After graduating from the University of Connecticut and working low-paying jobs, Michael moved to New York to pursue a modelling career full time.
He was a hit and it was through his work with Calvin Klein that he was spotted by Baywatch bosses who brought him in for an audition.
“As shy as I was, I never thought I would be a model, let alone an actor,” He told Ventura Blvd.
“I’ll never forget the callback for Baywatch. After reading in front of about 12 producers, they put red shorts on me and threw me in ‘The Tank’ for a swimming audition.
“Immediately afterward, I had to race to the airport to not miss my flight home (without my suitcase), and by the time I landed, I had a message from my manager saying I got the part!”
Michael moved into the property world when Baywatch finished in the early noughties, flipping houses for profit.

It was around this time he married his makeup artist wife Joy Tilk, with who he has Jesse, 24, and Alana, 20.
There was controversy in 2004 when Michael released a tell-all book about his affair with Carolyn Bessette, who was married to the late John F Kennedy Jr, the son of President Kennedy.
He insisted he never intended to make their affair public, but decided to release the book after allegedly being misrepresented in The Kennedy Curse, by Edward Klein.
In an interview to promote it, Michael admitted the affair was wrong and said: “[Klein’s book] just caused this whirlwind of stories saying that she’s just a horrible monster, that she’s a coke addict, she’s this and she’s that.
“And I knew her very well. And she’s not any of that. The whole book was all lies. I had to do something.”
It didn’t hamper his new career though. The switch to real estate proved to be a great decision and Michael quickly establishing himself in the industry.
He was ranked in the top one percent of agents in the San Fernando Valley and was number one in his office, before his move to The Hills.

A MIDWIFE was left in utter shock after winning three houses in a raffle.
Sade Oluwaleimu, a NHS midwife from London, entered the draw with the money it would cost to buy a Meal Deal but it clearly paid off.
Sade won three homes thanks to a raffle[/caption]
The founders of Tramway Path, Jason, Will and Dan, have helped many buy a home mortgage free[/caption]
Taking part in the Tramway Path raffle, Sade won three properties in Bristol worth £500,000 altogether – the price of her ticket? Just £3.
Since then Sade has been spending her time travelling the world and doing missionary work for Rwanda, Ghana and Nigeria.
She added that since winning she’s ‘really had the freedom to pursue my dreams.’
Sitting down to speak to the founders of Tramway Path on YouTube, who started their company when one of the three brothers, Dan, decided to give away his property in a giveaway, Sade revealed how it had transformed her life.
Since winning she t a position as the CEO of a charity called Life for African Mothers, focusing on providing midwives and medication to impoverished nations.
Although Sade has been able to fulfil her dreams, she revealed being a landlord was a huge learning curve.
she said; “I’m going from nothing to a lot, a full plate.
“But what’s helped is finding excellent property managers because the properties are in Bristol and I’m in Hertfordshire. And my schedule is still busy.”
The lucky winner said she has still taught herself everything she needs to know about being a landlord to make sure it’s all being managed correctly.
And of course, she says the best thing about her new role is the money which has allowed her to travel.
Despite winning and having income every month from her renters, she still works as a midwife as she loves her job.
Being mortgage free has been life-changing for Sade as she revealed: “I feel free. I feel liberated.”
And she recommends for everyone to try their luck and enter the competition themselves.
HOW YOU COULD WIN A HOUSE FOR A FIVER
For just £5, a lucky punter could scoop themselves their dream home anywhere they want in the UK this October.
The future raffle winner won’t have to fork out for legal fees or stamp duty charges either.
Property brothers, Jason, Will and Daniel Twenefour are offering the life-changing opportunity through their company Tramway Path.
Daniel told JamPrime.com: “We want to give individuals the freedom to select an area that suits their preferences.
“We introduced the new model as a result of feedback from our community.
“We understand that proximity to friends, family, or work can be important to people, and we don’t want to impose any limitations that could get in the way of these connections.”
The draw is open until October 27 with ticket bundles starting at just £5 – and you get three entries. Enter here.
While many opt for entering the Lottery, Sade reveals she much prefers Tramway Path.
She added: “”Why not give it a shot?
“To me, tramway path is more realistic than playing the lottery.
“Because we’re not believing for something unrealistic. It’s a house that people buy in their day to day and that we just can’t afford.”
