SPORTS-LOVING iPhone owners are about to receive a blockbuster new upgrade in iOS 18.

The Apple-native Sports app will soon offer Live Activities for all teams and leagues available in the app, according to the iPhone maker.

Live Activities will give iPhone owners live scores and play-by-play information on the lock screen – so fans can keep up with the game at a glance.

Live scores and play-by-play info will also be found in the Dynamic Island on newer models, and on the Apple Watch.

The move means Live Activities inside the Apple TV app will be unavailable with iOS 18.

The app will cover 15 leagues, including NFL, NBA and Premier League – but even more in the future.

Additional leagues, such as the Champions League and Europa League in September, will become available on Apple Sports over time.

Apple added that the Sports app will offer “quick access to scoring drives presented alongside the view of every game play,” along with a new dynamic drive tracker that “lets fans visualise where the ball is on the field at any time.”

Later this year, Apple said it would add a new drop-down navigation bar and enhanced search functionality inside the app.

Inside iOS 18

iOS 18 will be the launchpad for Apple’s first artificial intelligence (AI) features.

Apple Intelligence – as it’s so aptly named – will power a new super-smart Siri, as well as reschedule meetings for you and natural language search for photos.

iPhone owners will also be able to search for scenes midway through a video, such as “When Katie takes her first steps” or “When Mum blows the birthday candles out”.

There are 10 other Photos app features coming with iOS 18, including locked photos, a clean-up editing tool, and the Image Playground.

iMessage is also receiving a big boost, with 12 new iOS 18 features.

This includes a send later feature, tapback emojis, satellite messages and long-awaited RCS support.

MCDONALD’S Monopoly is about to return once again and loyal customers could win a range of amazing prizes.

The annual fast food game officially kicks off on September 4, 2024 and will run for six weeks until October 18, 2024.

However, McDonald’s has warned that restaurant managers can limit the number of stickers per order if they suspect you’re wasting food just to play.

Production company Banijay is leading the way with bringing the iconic programme back to life.

Faking It originally aired on Channel 4 between 2000 and 2006.

The show, which can still be streamed on Channel 4’s online platform, was highly acclaimed during its original run.

It even won two prestigious BAFTA awards for its innovative approach to reality television.

The premise of Faking It saw ordinary members of the public paired up with seasoned professionals to learn a new skill or craft over the course of a month.

Participants were then put to the test by competing against genuine experts in the field they had been training in.

The ultimate goal was to fool a panel of judges, who would determine which contestant was the ‘faker’ based on their performance.

No other details are known about the potential reboot as of yet, but fans of the original can look forward to seeing one of their favourite reality shows back on screens again.

This news comes after Channel 5 bosses revealed that they will be putting out a series of dramas with soap stars at the helm.

Corrie alum Will Mellor will front an exciting new series of the anthology show, The Teacher. 

Meanwhile former EastEnders star Jo Joyner is going to lead a new six-part mystery drama called The Wives, and Hollyoaks actor Claire Cooper has swapped soap drama for an enthralling rags-to-riches story.

Chloe had rummaged through the boxes at the front of one of the stalls and found the cute rainbow bag, immediately grabbing it for her little girl.

She then took it home – thinking nothing more of it.

But when she opened it, she was stunned to discover two pricey bracelets inside.

“I got home and I’ve opened it up and I found this bracelet here – it’s a Joma jewellery bracelet that’s meant to be £18!” Chloe said in a video on her and her friend’s Bootsale Mums TikTok page.

The dainty silver bracelet featured a tiny gold star charm on one side, and looked to be nearly new – with no tarnishing or anything.

Her shock continued when she then pulled out a Pandora bracelet.

“I’ve asked my friends and a few of my friends have said this is real,” Chloe added.

The double leather bracelet retails for around £55 in the famous jewellery store, and it even had a charm on it too, which would have set the owner back about £20.

So in total, she managed to nab £93 worth of jewellery for just 50p.

There were even some little clip on earrings inside too, although Chloe wasn’t sure if they were worth anything.

“So all of that 50p!” she concluded.

“I mean, I’m not gonna lie I feel a little bit guilty!

“But what a find!”

“Bootsale surprise!” Chloe captioned the video.

People were quick to comment on the TikTok, with one writing: “My daughter’s bags were always full of bits like this when they were younger.”

“No way! That’s good lol. I loveee Joma wear them all the time,” another added.

“I was so shocked when I opened it at home!” Chloe replied.

“I got a Pandora bracket with 3 charms for £1 at charity shop,” a third said.

“Bracelet was current stock £99!”

As others insisted Chloe didn’t need to feel guilty about her find.

“Not your fault – they should have checked before selling it,” one wrote.

“I wouldn’t feel guilty!”

“That’s on the seller to have not checked before selling,” another added.

“I always check every pocked in bags/clothes I’m selling.”

Motors whizz Scotty Kilmer, who has been fixing up vehicles for over 50 years, explained the irritating noise on his YouTube channel.

He revealed that a “squeaking” from under your bonnet could be the result of an issue with your fan belt.

The fan belt is a length of synthetic rubber studded with teeth along the inside.

It loops around a series of shafts on the engine block and keeps them all turning, including the shaft that spins the cooling fan which gives the belt its name.

These shafts are vital to the smooth running of the engine and the belt makes sure they are all synced up and in time with one another.

However, like most engine parts, the fan belt can wear over time and needs to be replaced before it snaps.

This should be done every 60-100,000 miles.

Scotty explained that when the fan belt begins to wear or loses tension it can cause a squeaking noise.

When that happens, a common reaction is to try and lubricate the belt with a bit of WD-40 just like you would a squeaky door hinge.

But the car expert warned against doing so as it can actually do more harm than good.

He urged: “Fan belts are made to run dry.

“If you put lubrication on them, they can slip.

“Spraying oil on it isn’t going to fix that.

“These belts are meant to run dry, do not lubricate them.”

On older cars, the problem can often be fixed by manually tightening the belt with a socket wrench.

With newer models, on the other hand, almost all use automatic tensioners so the noise is either caused by the belt being stretched out or a problem in one of the shafts it drives.

You can solve this by replacing the belt and, if that doesn’t work, taking the car into your local garage for a check-up.

Just make sure not to lubricate the belt at all as that can cause it to slip off while running, potentially causing hundreds of pounds-worth of damage to your engine.

When is the CoD Black Ops 6 beta?

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will officially launch on October 25, 2024, but fans are getting the chance to play it before then.

There are two weekends when people can try the game before it’s released and both sessions are completely free.

The beta test is available on all platforms the game will launch on, which includes PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Steam.

Black Ops 6’s first beta session starts on Friday, August 30, 2024, and ends on Wednesday, September 4, 2024.

This session is only open to those who have pre-ordered the game on any platform, and Xbox Game Pass subscribers.

If you don’t subscribe to Game Pass, and don’t want to pre-order Black Ops 6, you can still try out the game before you buy.

A second beta test is open to everyone and will begin on Friday, September 6, 2024, and end on Monday, September 9, 2024.

Both beta sessions will focus on the multiplayer modes of the game.

How to get CoD Black Ops 6 beta codes

For the first round of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 beta, you need to pre-order any version of CoD: BO6.

If you pre-order a digital version of the game, the beta will be available to launch on Battle.net.

However, if you choose to buy a physical copy, you will be sent an email with a beta code to enter.

However, you can wait for the second round of beta testing a week later, which will be completely free as you do not need to pre-order.

A MUM has admitted killing her ten-year-old daughter after the schoolgirl was stabbed to death at home.

Shay Kang was discovered at the property in Rowley Regis, West Midlands, on March 4.

Her mum Jaskirat Kaur today pleaded guilty to manslaughter by diminished responsibility but denied murder.

The plea at Wolverhampton Crown Court was accepted by prosecutor Sally Howes KC.

Kaur was remanded into custody to appear for sentencing at the same court on October 25.

The horror unfolded when police were called to the home after a welfare officer was unable to get an answer.

An inquest heard previously how Shay died from stab wounds to the chest.

Tributes have flooded in for the youngster, who was a pupil at Brickhouse Primary School.

The school said in a statement: “Shay was a bright, happy, fun-loving child who was well liked by all and she will be very sadly missed by everyone.

“School is the heart of the community and we have already begun working with our children and staff to support them following this devastating news.”

While Shay’s godmother Kayleigh Colclough also told of her pain in a heartbreaking tribute.

She wrote: “I’ll miss you baby girl. My heart hurts.

“I’m not sure how I feel. I feel sick, numb, angry and a failure. I’m totally heartbroken.

“I’m so, so sorry baby girl. I’ll forever miss you but remember I’m bringing you justice.”
