Little-known car brand to launch bargain luxury estate in Europe to undercut Porsche
A LITTLE-known luxury car brand will soon be in Europe and will look to take on the might of Porsche.
Chinese firm Denza, which is the high-class car wing of the ever-growing BYD marque, is readying its stylish Denza Z9 GT for its first release outside of its homeland.

Naturally, it comes with a host of clever stylistic features, including elongated headlights, retractable door handles and optional camera mirrors.
Inside, its roomy interior includes five dashboard screens: one for instruments, a large infotainment display, a passenger screen and two more on the door panels for the optional camera mirrors.
The front passenger seat offers a zero-gravity mode, and there are even two refrigerators – one 4-litre unit in the front and a 10-litre one in the back.
In China, where the Z9 GT has a base price equivalent to £35,500, it is available as a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and as an all-electric model.
The PHEV combines a 2.0-litre petrol engine with three electric motors, producing an impressive 870 PS.
It can hit 0 to 62 mph in 3.6 seconds, and it boasts an electric range of 125 miles and a total range of 684 miles.
The electric version has three motors delivering 965 PS, and accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in 3.4 seconds, with a total range of 391 miles.
BYD is currently the world’s second-largest maker of EVs (after Tesla) and the carmaking giant is hoping to significantly expand its presence in Europe.
The Chinese company has benefited from massive state subsidies and access to the nation’s huge market, allowing it to offer its motors at heavily reduced prices.
It has now turned its attention to the European market and has been rising up the sales tables since its debut in 2022.
This comes as a host of other Chinese firms are vying to break into the European and UK markets.
Chinese carmaker Avatr is readying its UK launch by the end of 2025 with an SUV that resembles the BMW X5.
And we revealed earlier this month that Omoda is entering the UK with two low-priced models.
Their Omoda 5 model will start at just £25,235, and that increases to £33,055 for the electric iteration, called the E5.
For that price, it appears Omoda is hoping to rival the Kia Sportage and Nissan Qashqai – two massive sellers in the UK – and maybe even the UK’s second-hand market.
