The deal only applies to the Wetherspoon small breakfast, which includes a fried egg, bacon, Lincolnshire sausage, baked beans and hash brown (or potato scone in Scottish pubs).

Prices vary across the pub giant’s estate, but the breakfast would normally set customers back £4.45, meaning a saving of at least 32%.

Punters will be able to add a Lavazza coffee or Twinings tea, as well as free refills, to their breakfast order for an extra £1.56.

Hungry customers can also add extras to the breakfast including black pudding, mushrooms, toast and tomatoes.

J D Wetherspoon founder and chairman, Tim Martin, said: “We believe that our customers  will welcome the value-for-money breakfast in our pubs.”

On top of the 650 pubs offering the £2.99 or less offer, a further 129 will offer the small breakfast for £3.99.

The offer does not apply to pubs at airports, Liverpool Street, Victoria, Waterloo or St Pancras stations or those in the Republic of Ireland.

The offer is running indefinitely with Wetherspoon yet to announce an end date.

If you want to find your nearest pub, you can use the locator tool on Wetherspoon’s website or app.

Those who love a Wetherspoon bargain need to put Thursday 12 September in their diary.

On that date Wetherspoon will offer customers a 7.5% reduction, across its food and drink menu, to mark its Tax Equality Day.

This month will also see Wetherspoon open a huge new train station pub following a £2.8million investment.

The Lion and The Unicorn will open at Waterloo station in London on Tuesday, September 3 in a move that’s set to delight commuters.

The opening of The Lion and The Unicorn forms part of Wetherspoons’ plan to open even bigger pubs, known as “Super Spoons”.

New boozers will also open in Fulham Broadway station and in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, in the coming months.

WAYS TO SAVE AT WETHERSPOONS

Every year, Spoons holds its Tax Equality Day to highlight the benefits of a permanently reduced tax bill for the pub industry.

It usually takes place in September, and this year falls on Thursday 12 September.

As well this its pubs host a 12-day Real Ale Festival every Autumn, Wetherspoons and a Spring Festival.

Wetherspoons is known for its meal deal offers that run all week long.

These include Tuesday’s Steak Club, Thursday’s Curry Club and Fish Friday.

For example, a standard curry club meal with an alcoholic drink is between £8.55 and £9.19.

Outside of the deal, you would expect to pay around a fiver more for the same meal.

You can enjoy bottomless brews all day in participating Wetherspoons pubs by buying one hot drink.

The offer includes tea and a range of Lavazza coffee including a flat white, latte, cappuccino, and Americano.

Prices start from just 99p but they can vary depending on your location.

Get appy – The Wetherspoons app allows you to order and pay for your drink and food from your table – but you don’t need to be in the pub to use it.

Taking full advantage of this, cheeky customers have used social media to ask their friends and family to order them drinks. The app is free to download on the App Store or Google Play.
