I visited the UK’s ‘worst seaside town’ – it’s got a bad reputation but has a huge beach & no seagulls to fight for food

IT’S been labelled the UK’s “worst seaside town”.

But Jev insisted he didn’t see why Mablethorpe has earned its bad reputation, as he visited the Lincolnshire town for a video on his TikTok page.

As well as a funfair, there was an arcade with little rides[/caption]

The first stop was the promenade, which has a go-kart track, arcade with rides and funfair, as well as ice-cream and doughnut stalls.

Then he made his way down to the seafront, as he said: “I can’t lie, the seafront and the promenade actually looks really nice here.

“The beaches are just so wide!

“I don’t know if it’s because the tide’s out or it’s just always like this.”

Another bonus of the seaside town is that there “are no seagulls”, as Jev noted that people can just “sit and eat their fish and chips in peace”.

“These places have a reputation of attracting the worst of society but I don’t get that vibe here,” Jev continued.

He added that it’s “certainly less commercialised” than other seaside towns, with a Gregg’s and a Co-op among the only big chain shops there.

They also have a Heron Foods, which Jev said he “rated”, as well as ave “some shops and some nice cafes”.

“I went in this cafe called Coffee Lounge, it had a caramel latte and it was actually really good, I recommend,” he noted.

“Obviously it is a bit tacky but you know, it’s got everything you’d want and no seagulls,” Jev concluded.

“So for me, I definitely rate this place.

“It has really nice scenery around here – this place actually has quite a lot to offer!”

And other people in the comments agreed with Jev’s positive review of the town.

“Mablethorpe is beautiful,” one wrote.

“The beaches are gorgeous.

“It has lovely Queens Park further down the beach, has a little pool, boat rides, cafe, golf… it’s not tacky at all, it’s very clean.”

Jev visits different towns, villages and cities around the UK and documents the trips on his TikTok page, with Stainforth and Branton in South Yorkshire, and Cantley in Doncaster among his latest locations.
